Job Responsibilities: Performs recalculations of benefits paid on Paid Leave, STD, and LTD claims Provides the highest level of technical support for claims team, as an expert in all financial aspects of claim management. Demonstrates an intimate understanding of all aspects of LTD, STD, and Paid Leave claim management/adjudication. Assists in the development and coordination of training for the team. Works with the team to address challenges relating to contract interpretation, procedures, complex claim assistance and or direction. Update and maintain SOPs and Job Aids for the team’s processes and procedures and ensuring that all key players are informed of available materials. Monitor, track, and analyze team measurements to ensure team objectives and goals are met. Responds to customer service issues within required timeframes to meet customer expectations. For US employees, this job is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime. Qualifications: BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and disability insurance experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in disability claim management. Strong understanding of the Social Security Administration, Workers’ Compensation and State deductible sources of income. Demonstrated conceptual thinking, risk management, ability to handle complex claim situations effectively. Demonstrated superior technical knowledge in the contract interpretation and administration. Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word & Teams Superior communication, organization, risk management and time management skills required. Excellent customer service skills proven through internal and external customer interactions. Coaches staff to enable excellence in customer service, claims management while demonstrating role model behaviors. Ability to partner with various areas of Group Insurance. The Accounting Implementation-Reinsurance Financial Reporting Director will be primarily responsible to partner with the Business lead to support the following: • Review new reinsurance treaties and accounting policy guidance memorandums in conjunction with existing policyholder accounting to determine any new accounting or accounting elements required to support the initiative • Create and document a summary of the accounting impacts of the initiative in a summary assessment (Accounting Impact Form) • Create Statutory and GAAP accounting examples of new transactions based on accounting guidance • Partner with Operations to execute Table Maintenance System changes to support the accounting in the administration systems or reinsurance programs • Partner with Technology to test accounting transactions and reports programmed in the administration system/sub-ledger (PIPS) to ensure correct STAT and GAAP reporting • Update relevant documentation to support the new reinsurance treaty • Support other FSS teams, Operations and Finance in researching and resolving issues/questions related to policyholder reinsurance accounting • Provide internal and external audit support on reinsurance policyholder accounting • Various ad-hoc requests as needed The successful candidate will also work closely, develop relationships, and become a trusted business advisor within the different FSS groups and to our business partners in Finance, Actuarial, Corporate Controllers, Operations, Separate Accounts Operations, Product Strategy, and Third Party Administrators.
