Job Summary
The Production Trainer helps in developing, facilitating, and implementing training for production employees. They assess the needs of Production, implement training protocols, develop plans, and facilitate a wide variety of training programs that enhance the effectiveness of the workforce.
Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead production onboarding classes for new hires
• Maintain accurate and current training records
• Train production management on new/updated work instructions
• Advise and lead employees on various training-related topics
• Advocate safety practices to all production staff
• Assist with all 5s initiatives
• Audit Lock Out Tag Out in all areas and work with Safety for improvements
• Perform systematical & physical audits to ensure personnel are properly trained
• Effectively communicate with multiple departments, team members, trainers, and management
• Have knowledge of various stages of the process on the Production Lines
• Make sure that appropriate safety measures are considered at every step of the production process
• Work with Systems Data Analysts to ensure L2L skills module is current and has the correct skills assigned to the correct roles
• Work with Process Engineering to develop/update standardized training documents
• Perform other duties and projects as required or assigned
• Adhere to all Purple rules, regulations, and policies
Required Skills, Education, Experience:
• Experience managing a production line and team using Lean principles
• Experience with training large groups and implementing policies and procedures
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations
• Ability to work with other departments and train employees on sensitive issues
• High School diploma or GED
• Understanding of production principles, processes, work instructions and job breakdown sheets
• Able to speak and understand English
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively
• Ability to work independently & in a team environment
