• THE POSITION *

The Manager, Innovation will work closely with/support the Senior Vice President of Strategy, Innovation, & Content to drive the mission of the Retail Innovation Center (RIC), support the Retail Chief Information Officer (CIO) Council, and encourage innovation activities across RILA. The Manager will play a key role in all aspects of the RIC’s strategy, objectives, projects and timelines, website, communications, and key stakeholders. The Manager will assist with the management, communications, meetings, and activities of the Retail CIO Council activities. • POSITION RESPONSIBILITES *

Retail Innovation Center (75%)
• Together with the SVP of Strategy Innovation and Content, manage the workstreams of the Retail Innovation Center (RIC) by coordinating cross-functional strategy, objectives, and timelines to ensure that “all the boats stay afloat.”
• Coordinate with other RILA departments as necessary to integrate innovation.
• Produce content for the monthly RIC newsletter, website, and LinkedIn pages and manage the overall RIC content calendar.
• Drive engagement and growth through digital channels by working with the Marketing and Communications teams on innovation one pagers, articles, infographics, press releases, blog postings, and other content.
• Lead the RIC’s Startup Network & Sourcing of Startups for RILA communities and activities.
• Maintain Salesforce Database of RIC Network Members.
• Lead RIC Award Programs (traditionally Startup Innovation Awards).
• Manage development of all RIC thought-leadership and events, including webinars and the RIC Stage.
• Conduct secondary research for any research reports and articles related to
• Speak at events about the RIC’s efforts and develop RIC presentations, talking points, etc.

CIO Council (20%)
• Together with the SVP, Strategy Innovation and Content, work with the Council
• Assist in developing and distributing community benchmarking surveys and summary reporting.
• Maintain Salesforce Council Database.
• Assist in developing committee meeting agenda and attend to meeting logistics.

Other Job Functions as Assigned (5%)
• Provide general support to the department as needed.
• Respond to industry requests from member and nonmember companies as needed on issues pertaining to research reports.
• Other duties and projects as requested or required.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• 2-3 years of experience in project management, marketing, or management consulting required.
• Demonstrated interest in innovation, retail technology, strategic planning, creative thinking.
• Experience in retail management technology, business administration, marketing, research OR related degree/field of study preferred.
• Enjoys working collaboratively with a team.
• Works well independently, self-driven, takes initiative.
• Researches and shows keen interest in evolving technology, startups, forward thinking innovation.
• Some travel may be required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Lead the development and execution of AP strategies and initiatives
• Manage day-to-day activities of RILA’s AP and Operations community, including the Asset Protection Leaders Council, Workplace Safety Committee, Crimes Against Business Committee and Chief Store Officer Council

• Assist internal Government Affairs partners with lobbying efforts, comment letters and policy issues
• Assist internal Content Strategy partners with annual conference planning, including content development and speaker recruitment
• Attend and present at external industry conferences and high-level events/meetings
• Produce written communications on activities and research (e.g. newsletters, issue briefs, committee memorandums, research reports, industry articles, etc.)
• Identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other RILA departments on relevant cross-functional AP and Operations issue areas
• Help lead, manage and develop the Coordinator, Retail Operations
• Manage AP and Operations budget
• Travel 30% of the time
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years of experience in retail asset protection, operations, risk management, business continuity (or related functional areas)
• Leadership responsibility in retail corporate headquarters or field with demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders across the organization
• Experience leading high-level meetings, inspiring others to work collaboratively and facilitating problem-solving
• Experience utilizing next-generation technology such as AI and data analytics
• Demonstrated ability to present to audiences ranging in size from 10-1,000 people
• Established a network of retail asset protection executives
• Professional certification or demonstrated educational credentials preferred
