• Coordinate with other RILA departments as necessary to integrate innovation.
• Produce content for the monthly RIC newsletter, website, and LinkedIn pages and manage the overall RIC content calendar.
• Drive engagement and growth through digital channels by working with the Marketing and Communications teams on innovation one pagers, articles, infographics, press releases, blog postings, and other content.
• Lead the RIC’s Startup Network & Sourcing of Startups for RILA communities and activities.
• Maintain Salesforce Database of RIC Network Members.
• Lead RIC Award Programs (traditionally Startup Innovation Awards).
• Manage development of all RIC thought-leadership and events, including webinars and the RIC Stage.
• Conduct secondary research for any research reports and articles related to

A preview of position responsibilities:
• Support RILA’s Compliance Council (comprised of retail chief ethics and compliance officers), including helping to plan and execute member calls/webinars/in-person events including agenda and educational session planning and drafting member communications and mailings.
• Manage the Retail Compliance Center (RCC) under the guidance of the EVP & Deputy General Counsel, including:
• Assist with transition/expansion of RCC from current focus on environmental and sustainability topics to serve as a broader retail compliance resource on a range of topics (e.g., trade, privacy, labor, consumer protection, corporate compliance and ESG);
• Serve as publisher of monthly RCC e-newsletter, including coordinating across RILA teams to gather items of interest and drafting newsletter;
• Provide creative and strategic vision to drive engagement and enhance RCC content and maintain all RCC resources and content, including working with the Creative team to update website information;
• Coordinate with any outside consultants/contractors responsible for preparing contracted resources;
• Lead RCC-related marketing efforts, including blog posts, LinkedIn, webinar promotion; and
• Work with the business development team to deepen engagement with current and prospective strategic partners and sponsors.
• Assists with drafting regulatory advocacy comments, blog posts, and other written work products.
• Support member educational programming and materials related to retail cross-functional topics to include webinars, conference calls, and workshops.
• Research and provide subject matter expertise for communications, calls and in-person meetings, and answer questions on member issues.
• Support RILA member in-person events (anticipate travel to up to 2 to 3 events annually) and the Retail Law Conference, including assisting with pre-meeting needs (marketing, registration, etc.) and onsite support as needed.

• Assist with transition/expansion of RCC from current focus on environmental and sustainability topics to serve as a broader retail compliance resource on a range of topics (e.g., trade, privacy, labor, consumer protection, corporate compliance and ESG);
• Serve as publisher of monthly RCC e-newsletter, including coordinating across RILA teams to gather items of interest and drafting newsletter;
• Provide creative and strategic vision to drive engagement and enhance RCC content and maintain all RCC resources and content, including working with the Creative team to update website information;
• Coordinate with any outside consultants/contractors responsible for preparing contracted resources;
• Lead RCC-related marketing efforts, including blog posts, LinkedIn, webinar promotion; and
• Work with the business development team to deepen engagement with current and prospective strategic partners and sponsors.
• Assists with drafting regulatory advocacy comments, blog posts, and other written work products.
• Support member educational programming and materials related to retail cross-functional topics to include webinars, conference calls, and workshops.
• Research and provide subject matter expertise for communications, calls and in-person meetings, and answer questions on member issues.
• Support RILA member in-person events (anticipate travel to up to 2 to 3 events annually) and the Retail Law Conference, including assisting with pre-meeting needs (marketing, registration, etc.) and onsite support as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by EVP & Deputy General Counsel.

Required Skills & Experience:
• Minimum Requirements: College degree and 3 years of work experience required.
• Added Plus: Previous experience working at a federal or state agency, legislative office, trade association, public policy group, law firm or in-house compliance team is a plus but not required.
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 starting annual salary, dependent on experience.
