Job Summary

The Business Administrator, Sr. manages the assigned business functions including but not limited to providing support to the center faculty, staff and students. The Administrator provides complete support and management with grant, award, and all applicable fund types within center(s) providing administrative, accounting, complete proposal assistance, budgeting, active reporting, final reporting, and makes strategic recommendations to Principal Investigators (PIs) regarding award management. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field

Job Summary

The Graphic Designer creates visual text and imagery concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers via advertising, logos, posters, digital ads, emails, social media and website platforms. We seek a scholar who will collaborate with departmental colleagues to expand course offerings and research in areas including introductory courses, research methods and statistics, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, sensation and perception, social psychology, personality, developmental psychology, and learning. The Cognitive Science Department offers B.S. undergraduate programs in Psychological Science, Cognitive Science, and Philosophy, and M.S. and Ph.D. graduate programs in Cognitive Science.

Additional areas of interest include visual effects, lighting and rendering, cinematography, rigging, technical art, compositing, character or environment design, game art, or virtual reality. Experience in one or more software applications used in animation and game development is desired, including Maya, ZBrush, Houdini, Blender, Substance Painter, Unity, or Unreal Engine.

The Department of the Arts in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer is home to one of the first Electronic Arts programs in the country. The B.S. and Ph.D. in Electronic Arts include animation, studio art, sound art, music, and music technology, digital filmmaking, multimedia installation, augmented and virtual reality, experimental games, performance art, bio-art, internet art, and other experimental media at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences is an interdisciplinary program with concentrations that include computer science, cognitive science, art and animation, music and game audio, management, and game writing and narrative design. Graduates from the Electronic Arts and GSAS programs have gone on to work at studios such as Disney Animation, Dreamworks Animation, Bethesda Softworks, thatgamecompany, and Vicarious Visions, as well as pursuing careers as media artists, filmmakers, and independent game developers.
