Job Summary:

The Central Access Representative position plays a key role in the health system interacting with patients, providers, payers and counterparts involved in each patient care.

Essential Functions:
• Ensures accuracy in all required demographic, financial, referral/authorization, clinical, and other registration data is accurately scheduled, collected, verified, and communicated as a core competency of this role.
• Supports departmental policies, practices, and initiatives in support of patient experience, throughput, safety standards and revenue cycle outcomes.

• Provide customer and peer training on network and related technology infrastructure toolsets, processes and procedures as required.
• Participate in projects, architecture and support (Technology Subject Matter Expert).
• Act as Lead in the process of developing, testing and implementing interfaces.
• Employ system engineering strategies, procedures and techniques to manage growing demand and complexity.
• Monitor system infrastructure technology assets; provide ongoing trend analysis.
• Perform analysis required to define reporting requirements. (Performance, Capacity, Change management) Develop expertise with reporting tools. Develop and maintain reports for Corporate and Affiliate entities as required.
• Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT&S policies, procedures and SLAs.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor s degree preferred. Certification or equivalent may be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in information technology and services.
• Experience in health care field helpful, but not required.
• Required: CCENT Preferred: CCNA

Job Summary:

The Central Access Representative position plays a key role in the health system interacting with patients, providers, payers and counterparts involved in each patient care.

Essential Functions:
• Ensures accuracy in all required demographic, financial, referral/authorization, clinical, and other registration data is accurately scheduled, collected, verified, and communicated as a core competency of this role.
• Supports departmental policies, practices, and initiatives in support of patient experience, throughput, safety standards and revenue cycle outcomes.
• Functions include scheduling of hospital and physician services for all RWJBH sites, pre-registration/registration, pre-admission/admission, insurance verification, referral coordination, pre-certification, screening for financial counseling, eligibility determination, and pre-service estimate communication and collection of any required copays, deductibles or co-insurances.
• Collaborates, communicates and coordinates to create a positive experience through the entire patient access and revenue cycle flow.

Job Requirements:
• Call center experience.
• Customer service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required within one (1) year of hire.
• Candidates who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent will be provided the opportunity to enroll in a GED/HSEA program at time of hire as a condition of employment. A hired candidate will be provided one (1) year from date of hire to successfully complete a GED program and obtain their HSEA.

A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs routine clinical and clerical tasks under the direction of a physician or other health practitioner. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, processing prescription refills, and assists with minor procedures as directed by a physician or health practitioner. Responsibilities:
• Performs clinical tasks such as blood draws, EKGs, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, and medication administration, treatments and minor surgeries as needed.
• Supports practice needs with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, preparing lab requests, and other clerical tasks as assigned.
• Communicates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
• Prepares rooms, arranges instruments and equipment, and ensures a neat and sanitary environment.
• Rooms patients, verifies patient information, confirms purpose of visit, obtains and records vitals and updates medical history.
• Communicates with patients and other providers per the instruction of the overseeing physician or health practitioner.
• Creates and maintains health record information, files and organizes as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required within one (1) year of hire. Candidates who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent at time of hire will be provided the opportunity to enroll in a GED/HSEA program as a condition of employment. New hires will be provided one (1) year from date of hire to successfully complete a GED program and obtain their HSEA. *
• Medical Assistant Certification required or the ability and willingness to obtain certification from one of the following recognized organizations within 60 days of hire: NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, NAHP. • BLS Certification approved by AHA, required.
