As our enthusiastic and hardworking PRODUCTION ASSISTANT (TRUCK DRIVER), you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
• Manage time daily to ensure route is completed within the approved work schedule. Routes are to be 100% completed each day, without exception, unless approved by the Transportation Supervisor or their designee.
• Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of assigned truck. Assist in the safe loading or unloading of other trucks as requested.
• Handle all donated material with safe handling procedures and assigned personal protective equipment at all times. Donations must be handled properly to ensure they return damage free to their destination.
• Train, instruct and supervise truck helper in their WTA, keeping in mind that helper is in a rehabilitation program and that good personal and professional work habits are taught by example, as well as by instruction.
• All pre and post checks must be completed daily. Any exceptions found during the pre-check inspection must be reviewed by the Transportation Supervisor prior to operating the vehicle. Any post-check exceptions must be reviewed with the Transportation Supervisor prior to clocking out for the day. All equipment on the truck must be in working order and properly secured for transport.
• Promptly report to immediate supervisor all accidents involving truck, personal injury or property damage.
• Abide by all DOT regulations and state and local laws while maintaining a safe driving record. Attend all driver safety meetings as required.

Qualifications to be considered for this position:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean Driving Record.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate electronic equipment used for daily route information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift up to 100l bs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Schedule

Our Distribution Center operate 5 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage. Full-time warehouse associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift, including some weekends and holidays.

The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required. The Salvation Army will consider requests for exemptions from any such requirements on either religious or medical grounds when available.

Summary/Primary Purpose: Promote, develop and secure planned and major... gifts from the highest level of qualified donors while advocating for The Salvation Army’s basic mission in Eastern Nebraska and Eastern South Dakota primarily, and a portion of Northwest Iowa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Promote, cultivate and secure Planned and Major Gifts, devoting 50% of available time working in the field with donors, prospects, centers of influence, and advisors (90% of field time with donors and prospects; 10% of field time with centers of influence and advisors). A. Work with current donors to increase their current and future planned giving and major giving support of The Salvation Army. B. Maintain and enhance contact with all appropriate individuals via the move’s management process – from qualifying persons as major/planned giving prospects, to securing major gifts, capital campaign gifts, lifetime gifts, and planned gifts. C. Establish a referral network with donors, advisors, advisory board members, centers of influence and other stakeholders. D. Accountable for managing and increasing productivity of approximately 150 assigned donors and some prospects – with annual goals for increasing planned giving expectancies, major gifts, and other support such as for capital campaigns and disasters support. E. Report activities and field work on appropriate formats as required. F. Maintain appropriate SalesForce files as required by the Director of Philanthropy
• Educate and involve appropriate Army constituencies, e.g., Advisory Board, corps personnel, etc. on the benefits of Planned and Major Giving, and the referrals of leads.
• Work with the Director of Philanthropy in the development of goals and objectives and in the overall planning and implementation of the Planned Giving and Major Giving marketing strategy.
• Continually upgrade knowledge and skill through personal initiative and participation in continuing education opportunities. Learn basic knowledge of Planned and Major Giving products and tax laws that impact a donors financial planning. Participate in training programs sponsored by the divisional and territorial administration.
• Driving is an essential role of this position.
• All other duties as assigned.
