The Corporate Insurance Director will report to the Managing Director, Operational Risk Management within the Enterprise & Operational Risk Management department. The Director will lead a team of two direct reports and be responsible for the purchase and maintenance of the insurance programs (excluding the employee benefits insurance program). The candidate will be responsible for the following core areas:
• Provide leadership and management for success: Build and maintain relationships with insurance brokers and insurance companies, including the planning and participation in underwriter meetings. Manage, lead and develop the members of the insurance group providing feedback, coaching and mentoring. Embrace reporting relationships with the various boards and board committees, department meetings and staff meetings.
• Purchase of Insurance: Identify the insurance needs of the firm by understanding exposure, reviewing limits and retentions. Work through insurance brokers to (or directly for monopolistic states), purchase the appropriate insurance protection. Ensure all policies are bound and paid on time and reviewed for accuracy in a timely manner.
• Claims: Report claims applicable to all policies (except Workers Compensation). Working with Corporate Legal Services, coordinate the collection of insurance reimbursements. Arrange for Third Party Administration (TPA) services for the Workers Compensation program. Participate in Workers Compensation quarterly TPA meetings.
• Subject matter expert: Work with various groups and departments when insurance expertise is required – such as setting and monitoring vendor insurance requirements, explaining coverages, relating how Excess SIPC works to clients and client-facing advisors.

As a Senior Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Centralized Risk Supervisors with a focus on strategic development of the infrastructure used to support Schwab Wealth Advisory within Investor Advice Solutions. • 10-15 + years of experience in the Fiduciary Compliance or Risk fields in the financial services industry, preferably supporting an investment advisory firm or in the banking industry.
• Strong understanding of varying compliance risks that transcend business lines, legal entities and jurisdictions of operations.
• Proven ability to identify and solve complex issues, spanning different business units or entities, working collaboratively with peers and with various levels of management and business partners.
• Ability to prioritize and lead a team of compliance professionals to continued improvement of the program.
• Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express oneself clearly in interactions with peers and leadership.
• Self-starter with an ability to work independently, leading a team that is geographically dispersed with an ability to flex when issues that demand immediate attention arise.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Will keep current on rules, regulations, and policies applicable to fiduciary risk and conflicts of interest
