In Addition, You Will Possess
• Postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience education or training.
• Extensive knowledge of current government and related frameworks for higher education, quality standards and qualifications.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare written material such as reports to executive and senior management, committees and boards, submissions to higher education regulators, deliver briefings to management, and facilitate consultation with staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to research, identify, analyse and adapt best practice approaches to quality assurance and quality improvement activities
• Experience leading internal and external compliance reviews, including interoperating legislation, regulations and implementation appropriate compliance solutions.

Salary And Benefits

This role leads the Quality team to ensure the University implements appropriate quality management functions to meet the requirements of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the related legalisation. Core responsibilities include:

The Faculty is seeking interest from experienced and suitable qualified early childhood teachers to undertake a range of casual academic opportunities that will enhance the overall student experience. Previous tertiary experience would be desirable but not essential.
Casual academic staff are required to undertake a range of duties within our programs, with a primary focus on marking, tutorials, workshops and student contact.
The hourly salary for casual academic staff is from $48.53 an hour (up to $57.76 for PhD holders) plus superannuation. Payments will also include additional preparation time where applicable (such as two hours preparation time for one-hour delivery time, and a higher hourly rate, if delivering a basic lecture). All casual positions have a degree of administrative duties.

Undertake timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including supplier invoices and expense claims.
Reconcile and process credit card transactions and process out-of-pocket reimbursements, ensuring alignment with relevant delegations, policies and procedures.

About you

About the opportunity
The Office of Business Intelligence and Quality supports the University through: conducting quality assurance and organisational reviews; providing support and advice regarding compliance with external legislation and TEQSA requirements.
This includes assisting with reporting on institutional performance against the University’s Strategic Plan; reporting data to external agencies; providing data to underpin and assist decision making; and conducting surveys and collating feedback from students.
The Business Intelligence Analyst designs and develops data resources for the University that are aligned with strategic priorities. Your core responsibilities will include:

Lead the development of business intelligence products for student data, including proposals on best practice as well as dashboard design, scoping, data modelling, reporting, distribution and ongoing management.
Consult with senior leaders to define data requirements, scope and purpose, and collaborate with Technology Services to determine the most appropriate data source for new business intelligence products.
Independently manage data projects, including the technical specifications, stakeholder consultation and methodology development as well as advise stakeholders on best practice for data analytics and continuous improvement of University practices.

About you
You will have extensive experience in utilising contemporary data analytics platforms (such as Power BI and Tableau), and business intelligence and data warehouse environments. Possessing experience manipulating large datasets for the purpose of deriving strategic insights, you will be proficient in quantitative data analysis methods, data modelling and programming languages (such as SQL and R). More specifically you will:

Have a relevant degree and at least four years’ experience in a similar role, or equivalent.
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail including maintaining data and records on information systems and an awareness of data quality, security and governance.
Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge and data literacy.

We seek an experienced safety leader with the vision, strategy, drive and influencing skills to improve our workplace. As the Manager, Workplace Health and Safety, you will create a safer, healthier, and more productive workplace for our staff and students.
You will have the mandate to transform and improve the health and safety of our workplaces with the support of the University Executive. As an experienced leader, you will understand the effectiveness of consulting and collaborating with other leaders and team members to get the best possible outcomes.
Your core responsibilities will include the following:

Influence and lead a safety culture transformation across the University;
Report to and collaborate with key stakeholders, including the HR Leaders, University Executive, to design and implement a vision for workplace safety that aligns with the Universitys strategy and values-led mission;
Drive the continuous improvement of safety standards and practices by developing and implementing innovative frameworks, strategies and initiatives.;
Provide specialist advice to managers on health and safety, risk identification, hazard reduction, and injury management;
Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements in all workplace health and safety areas;
Liaise with and facilitate interactions between the University and relevant statutory bodies on health and safety issues;
As an integral member of the HR Services leadership team, contribute to the development and implementation of the Universitys overall people strategy while leading the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and systems;
Lead and manage a small team of safety professionals and provide guidance and coaching to foster their professional development while ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.

About The Opportunity

The Office of Business Intelligence and Quality supports the University through: conducting quality assurance and organisational reviews; providing support and advice regarding compliance with external legislation and TEQSA requirements.

This includes assisting with reporting on institutional performance against the University’s Strategic Plan; reporting data to external agencies; providing data to underpin and assist decision making; and conducting surveys and collating feedback from students.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include

The Business Intelligence Analyst designs and develops data resources for the University that are aligned with strategic priorities.
• Lead the development of business intelligence products for student data, including proposals on best practice as well as dashboard design, scoping, data modelling, reporting, distribution and ongoing management.
• Consult with senior leaders to define data requirements, scope and purpose, and collaborate with Technology Services to determine the most appropriate data source for new business intelligence products.
• Independently manage data projects, including the technical specifications, stakeholder consultation and methodology development as well as advise stakeholders on best practice for data analytics and continuous improvement of University practices.

About You

You will have extensive experience in utilising contemporary data analytics platforms (such as Power BI and Tableau), and business intelligence and data warehouse environments. Possessing experience manipulating large datasets for the purpose of deriving strategic insights, you will be proficient in quantitative data analysis methods, data modelling and programming languages (such as SQL and R). More specifically you will:
• Have a relevant degree and at least four years’ experience in a similar role, or equivalent.
• Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail including maintaining data and records on information systems and an awareness of data quality, security and governance.
• Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge and data literacy.

Salary And Benefits

Background: Southern Cross University and Mid North Local Health District are pleased to offer a fully funded PhD scholarship commencing in December 2022 supported through a research grant from the NSW Health Translational Research Grants Scheme.
This is an exciting opportunity to conduct research in partnership with two Local Health Districts, and will be suited to individuals from a range of health disciplines (nursing, allied health, psychology, public health). The PhD will be conducted in a highly supportive environment, with strong career development and networking opportunities, as well as excellent supervision and mentoring.
Project focus: This PhD scholarship will establish whether an intervention designed and successfully trialled in one facility can be successfully translated... into other settings. The project will examine the impact of the intervention on aggression and restrictive practices, consumer and nurse experiences of care, implementation and sustainability strategies and cost-effectiveness.
The project has been co-designed with consumers and will have lived-experience consultants as co-investigators throughout the project. It will also have a strong emphasis on translation of findings, offering the opportunity to engage with industry experts to inform practice and policy.
The successful candidates will receive a scholarship of $40,000 p.a for 3 years, as well as a tuition fee waiver. Applicants must meet the entry requirements to enrol in a PhD at Southern Cross University.
