Your key areas of focus

As a Product Manager at Zepz, you’ll join one of our Product Engineering teams, you’ll take ownership of specific parts of your team’s overall roadmap.

We are growing fast (yes even now) and at a stage where we want to move fast with high stability. So you’ll have to be comfortable with making progress with incomplete or imperfect information.
In your first few months, you’ll

Start with fully understanding the issue you are trying to solve by digging into user research, analytics, and whatever else is required. You’ll then work on designing a solution, hopefully, one that can be implemented iteratively, together with your engineering team, designers, and as-needed stakeholders from across the company. You’ll work with your team to prioritize it and you’ll ensure that it gets built to spec and shipped. You’ll measure the impact and ensure that it solves the problems you set out to solve.

We are growing fast, and currently hiring for senior Product talent in our data and payments teams.

On Payments, you’ll help accelerate our growth by simplifying what adding a new market looks like or owning the transaction experience on one of our apps

On Data, you’ll help us understand our users and business better by working with engineering to improve data availability, quality and usability. You may also engage on specific data-heavy projects to help solve business problems
What you bring to the table
• The ability to figure out what needs to get built and executed. You probably have a few years of professional product management experience in a high-growth, data-intensive environment. You can articulate a problem and confidently scope fast iterations and make sure to deliver customer and/or business value constantly
• Data-savviness coupled with an inquisitive and investigative nature. You may have a technical background or just a ton of curiosity that let to a broad set of analytics skills. You not afraid to learn or use new tools, write SQL, dig through tickets, look into some code, or do whatever else it takes for you to frame questions and get data quickly so you and your teams can better understand a problem and prioritize solutions
• Desire to get your hands dirty- We sent over 15Bn on behalf of our users last year, and we are just getting started. You are willing, nay excited, to roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs to be done. Sometimes this means writing SQL, other times it may mean drafting up a copy or a mock (don't worry, you'll be able to request help to polish it up)
• Clear communication skills. You’ll be making complex tradeoffs about what’s best for our users and our business thoughtfully and collaboratively. The ability to articulate them is critical to your success.
• Willingness to travel. When in doubt, we get on a plane. Visit our growth team in the field, join co-working sessions with fellow colleagues around the world and meet users where they are (But we also respect vacation time and outside commitments — your time is important.)
Bonus points if you have:
• A degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, economics, engineering, or computer science.
• Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to handle ambiguity gracefully.
• An open mind with respect to diversity and inclusivity. Our team (and customers) come from all over the world.

How we work What we're most proud of though is our brilliant, creative, and tenacious team. Our remote-first workplace means you'll be working with Sendwavers in Europe, Africa, South America, and the U.S. that all share a core set of Sendwave values. What exactly are those values? Glad you asked. Prioritize fearlessly. There will always be more problems to solve and opportunities to pursue than... we have the capacity for. We're not afraid to say How we work What we're most proud of though is our brilliant, creative, and tenacious team. We're not afraid to say no and are willing to let fires burn, knowing that to win we must discern and execute decisively on the vital few rather than the important many. Take full ownership of the outcomes we're responsible for. Our job is not to do what we can to solve a problem. It's to ensure that problem is solved. If an attempt to solve a problem doesn't work, we seek an alternative. If we need help, we request it, and, if necessary, demand it. Forge a diverse team and inclusive culture. We believe the challenges we're addressing will be best met by a truly global, diverse team, working together. We're not naive to the systemic bias and discrimination that make this easier said than done, so we check our egos, listen deeply, and measure progress towards making this a fundamental part of our success. Maximize our rate of learning. We view projects as ever-evolving drafts and welcome opportunities to discover that what we had in mind won't work so we can move to an even better end state. Most importantly, we do this fast. The faster we run these loops -- as a company and individuals -- the faster we'll achieve our mission. Embrace embarrassing honesty from ourselves and others. We function best when we're open and honest with one another -- especially about our challenges and doubts. We lean into uncomfortable conversations and support our colleagues when they do the same. Maximize energy, not time spent. We measure our own and others' contributions by objectives reached, not time spent. Living a full life outside of work is necessary for high achievement over the long term. We also believe in being completely transparent about salary and pay. If we're committing to being open and honest with our customers about rates and fees, as an employee, you shouldn't expect anything less. How you'll help us achieve it We're looking for an experienced engineer with strong technical design skills and excitement about mentorship to help keep our team well rounded, and help keep our product quality high as we grow the team and the product. Engineering at Sendwave has stayed small throughout the company's growth and we've been able to sustainably work in a simple, monolithic backend. We're getting ready to tackle more challenges more quickly-- simultaneously launching multiple new markets and reinvesting in our user-facing product. To achieve this, we need our small product eng team to grow into a group of teams, and our monolithic backend to split into multiple focussed services. We want to add another senior engineer to the team to help guide some of the architectural changes we're making in the short term, and to mentor and grow our not-yet-senior team members to the point where they can take on those roles in the future. About the team Engineering at Sendwave is split between 6 teams (Finance, Risk, Growth and Engagement, Delivery, Policy and Identity, and our Platform team). We're about 30 engineers. of professional software engineering experience in a high-growth, rapidly changing environment Solid understanding of server tools and concepts (python, databases, web performance) and familiarity with mobile (iOS & Android) platforms, and cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP, Heroku). Ready to apply?

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If interested, please submit your resume along with a cover letter (optional), highlighting why your experience demonstrates you meet the requirements of the role. Please also indicate the countries in which you have work authorization. While Zepz supports visa sponsorship, sponsorship opportunities may be limited to certain roles and skills.

At Zepz we record interviews using Metaview (https://metaview.ai). It helps us become better interviewers by recording and transcribing our interviews, and ensures we interview candidates in a fair & consistent manner. It is not required. Please let us know if you’d like to opt out of the use of Metaview - this will not affect the outcome of your interview.

Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. Zepz is a place where everyone can thrive.

So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, and if at all you might need any form of support to make the process as comfortable as possible, please let us know and give us a shot by applying. We want you to be excited to wake up to make an impact every day
