This is a professional position responsible for developing and executing a holistic undergraduate recruitment plan to assist with meeting university goals. Responsible for managing the day-to-day recruitment operations of the admissions office. Leads the design and implementation of initiatives and activities that advance undergraduate recruitment. Responsible for coordinating proactive programs and services that promote successful undergraduate enrollment, including recruitment, pre-matriculation, transition, retention, and graduation rates. Serves as a member of the enrollment management leadership team. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management.

Essential Job Functions
• Develops strategic recruitment objectives for undergraduate recruitment team.
• Establishes and meets specific, measurable, and attainable recruitment goals, actively seeking efficiencies and improvements.
• Utilizes data to monitor undergraduate recruitment trends and prepares reports to assess recruitment effectiveness.
• Designs and implements undergraduate recruitment plan, including university partnerships, events, and programs.
• Serves as a liaison between Admissions and campus departments to increase collaboration, determine needs, and identify resources for programming, recruitment, and retention.
• Facilitates and provides public presentations on campus and in high schools and community colleges.
• Contributes to the development of a communications plan that addresses the recruitment needs of a diverse prospective student population.
• Hires, trains, supervises, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff.
• Resolves undergraduate recruitment related issues.
• Assists with departmental budget planning and tracking.

+ Works with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to campus requirements.

Other Specifications
This is a Visiting Assistant Professor appointment for nine months. This position will teach graduate and undergraduate ceramics courses (three courses fall semester and three courses spring semester), supervise graduate assistants, and manage the ceramics facility.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Knowledge of current ceramics practices.
• Experience teaching ceramics at the university level.
• Experience managing a ceramic facility.

The School of Art has an outstanding ceramics facility of approximately 7,000 square feet including 25 wheels, six electric kilns, two large reduction kilns, wood fire kiln, soda kiln, and others. Responsible for supervision of office employees and participation in the maintenance of fiscal records for a large university department. Work may be performed independent of supervision. Reports to assigned supervisor.

Essential Job Functions
1. Work involves typing/input of various documents and correspondence.

2. Prepares and posts payrolls, special reports, receipts, vouchers, journal and ledger entries, log books, etc.

3. Assists supervisor with and/or prepares financial reports as required.

4. Maintains requisitions for purchasing inventory of equipment and supplies.

5. Maintains accounts for departmental budgets and records of budgetary controls.

6. Participates in maintenance of time records, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other financial records maintained in department.

7. Balances accounts by running tapes, proofreading, operating CRT, preparing summary of balances and cost information or other reports as required for use in preparing financial reports.

8. Files and maintains clerical records and reports pertinent to accounting and bookkeeping operations.

9. Records expenditures of departmental accounts; initiates and/or processes requisitions for purchases.

10. Reviews personnel action forms and time records for accuracy and budgetary conformity.

11. Supervises other office employees in accounting/bookkeeping duties.

12. Verifies encumbrances on monthly printouts.

Non-Essential Job Functions
1. May receive and/or supervise the receipt of payments from students and others for departmentally sponsored activities.

2. May make and receive business-related phone calls and perform departmental accounts research.

3. May assist various university departments and students with fiscal policies and procedures.

4. May supervise student assistants.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Demands Required Education
Completion of at least two years of college coursework in accounting, associate’s degree in a related field or business school training is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.

Required Experience and Training
Three years of experience at an Accounting Clerk II level or equivalent is required. Experience in bookkeeping or fiscal accounting, general office procedures, and computer data entry and retrieval is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education is preferred.

• Assists the budget director with complex institutional budgetary analysis.
• Works with Financial Reporting to develop new funds, orgs, and programs (FOPs).
• Monitors FOPs for negative balances and works with colleges and department personnel to correct related problems.
• Monitors and analyzes divisional salary and wage accounts and completes budget transfers to correct related problems.
• Enters journal vouchers for all budget transfers between different funds. Enters budget transfer vouchers as needed.
