POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, the Senior Director of Continuing and Online Education (SDCOE) is responsible for developing and launching financially sustainable online programs and collaborating with stakeholders to support design and implementation of the University’s overall continuing and online education strategy. The SDCOE serves as primary liaison between SCSU colleges/schools and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and assists the SGPS Dean and Academic Affairs administration with coordination, planning, and implementation of online, not-for-credit, and for credit continuing education programs.

The SDCOE is a member of the Dean’s Cabinet and is responsible for directing the activities of the Office of Continuing and Online Education, including supervisory responsibilities. The Senior Director will work closely with campus partners in two specific key areas:
• Lead the planning, development and launch of new non-credit continuing education (CE) initiatives for the university in a variety of modalities (on-ground, online, hybrid, and blended).
• Support faculty initiatives for developing new online degree and for-credit certificate

POSITION REPONSIBILITIES
• Identifies and assesses new non-degree continuing education (CE) program Determines relevant regional, corporate and community needs/desires for online and continuing education programs.
• Drives curricular innovation for a portfolio of online, hybrid, and on- ground programs that are responsive to and reflective of emerging market demands.
• Develops go-to-market and marketing Implements project management and business process management practices for successful and on-time launches of online and CE initiatives.
• Prepares business plans for various projects to analyze and evaluate the business and programmatic impact of the proposed online and CE programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree required. Terminal degree in relevant field preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience leading/managing a functional unit with at least 2 years of higher education experience in project management and program development, including budgeting, program planning, and program/project evaluation within the broad functional domains of CE and online education. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, policies, and sustainable practices.

The Position
The ideal candidate for SCSU’s Assistant Coach-Offensive Coordinator will excel at on-field coaching, recruiting, managing and implementing an offensive strategy, fundraising, off-season training, assisting with administrative duties, academic oversight and community engagement activities. The successful candidate will help create a competitive environment that focuses on student-athlete success, including athletic performance, academic performance, and overall well-being, with an emphasis on students’ preparation for personal and career success upon graduation. The Assistant Coach-Offensive Coordinator must also be knowledgeable of and committed to compliance with NCAA, Northeast 10 Conference and University regulations, as well as prioritize annual completion of NCAA coach’s curriculum required courses and timely submission of all required paperwork. This position reports to the Head Football Coach and will attend to other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. • Responsible for all underpayments/overpayments made on Federal Perkins/ Nurse Faculty loan and determining next course of action. Verifies enrolled borrowers report and process separation of students including coordinating the exit interview process, cancellations, forbearances, hardships, unemployment, and student deferments for Perkins/ Nurse Faculty loan programs.
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of the 1098T form which may be used by federal tax filers to determine eligibility for certain federal income tax credits and allowable deductions.
• Coordinates Veterans Administration waivers and is responsible for the day-to-day VA Certification process. Performsresponsibilities as a School Certifying Officer (SCO) for veteran students and/or their dependents; this includes GI Bill (Veterans Administration), National Guard, and DoD TA recipients.
• Prepares vendor invoices received and confirms that the appropriate accounting codes and amounts payable have been entered on each vendor invoice for approval.
• Update & maintain the tuition and fee waiver tables for Banner processing according to Board of Regents & Connecticut General Statute regulations.
• Assists the Bursar in supervising the receipt and deposit of all revenues collected by the university.

Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities

The Counseling and School Psychology Department in the College of Education is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in Counseling to begin August 2022. Southern has CACREP-accredited master's programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling as well as a new EdD program in Counselor Education and Supervision. The successful candidate will teach graduate level counseling courses, provide supervision and advisement to graduate students, pursue scholarship and a research agenda, participate in curricular and program development, collaborate with school and agency partners, and serve on department and university committees.

Required Qualifications
• Applicants must hold a doctorate in counselor education or a related program.
• Identify self as a counselor educator and be committed to the professional field of counselor education as evidenced by education, teaching, professional experience, research, and professional affiliations.
• Hold or be eligible to hold certification and/or licensure.
• Exhibit a commitment to social justice and counseling under-represented populations.

Preferred Qualifications

A doctorate from a CACREP-accredited counselor education program, counselor supervision experience, knowledge of current national counselor education standards (CACREP), knowledge of and experience in academic research, experience working with doctoral students in instruction and mentoring, and evidence of program development and evaluation experience.

The Department of Counseling and School Psychology places a high priority on the development of cross-cultural competence and on social justice advocacy. PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency, this class is accountable for performing a full range of highly skilled duties in one of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing and steamfitting, utilities or heating, ventilation and refrigeration.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Performs highly skilled maintenance and/or construction work requiring application of trade skills, codes and standard trade practices in electrical, plumbing, utilities, or HVACR trade areas; makes estimates of time, personnel and determines and obtains required materials; keeps necessary records; may perform duties related to similar trade areas as required; may act as liaison with other operating units and outside contacts; may operate heavy equipment; may respond to fire and/or crash emergency situations at state owned airports; performs related duties as required.

HVACR: Performs highly skilled tasks in accordance with standard trade practices and codes on air systems used in heating, ventilating and refrigeration; operates, maintains, repairs, installs, modifies and assembles air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems which may use Freon or chilled water for air cooling means and air or water for condenser means; determines required cooling capacity of units needed for small areas; uses and interprets a psychometric chart; controls and measures air flow, room air changes and room pressurizing; monitors computerized control systems; performs minor tests for fuel specific gravity and gas leaks; adds water treatment chemicals to boilers; may install, modify, repair and assemble electrical or pneumatic controls for this type of equipment; may inspect and repair steam traps fed by main system at various locations; may remove pipe insulation materials associated with repair of pipes and fittings using OSHA approved methods.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply standard tools, materials, methods and practices of the particular trade; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare estimates and keep shop records; some ability to utilize computer software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience in the particular trade area indicated by the parenthetical title.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled trade functions in the specific trade area.
Note: For State Employees, this is interpreted at the level of Skilled Maintainer or Transportation Maintainer 2.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
1. Graduation from a vocational or technical school with a diploma designating completion of subject requirements in a maintenance trade area may be substituted for two (2) years of the General Experience.
2. Two (2) years of experience as a Qualified Craft Worker Intern in a designated maintenance trade area may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.
3. Experience performing technical duties within a designated maintenance trade area on a military base, aircraft carrier or large compound may be substituted for the General and Special Experience on a year for year basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a current D2 License.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Incumbents in this class may be required by the appointing authority to possess and retain appropriate current licenses, permits and/or certifications including possession and retention of an Unlimited Journeyperson"s license in the trade area indicated by the parenthetical title.
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain specific education and/or experience to meet various certification requirements.

CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
At State Airports: In addition to the checking of references and of facts stated in the application, a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be made before persons are certified for appointment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
