Overview:

The Assistant Director of Competitive Sports within Campus Recreation and Wellness (CRW) is an integral part of the daily operation of the department and the Division of Student Life. Qualifications

Sport Programs Manager Position Overview:

The Sport Programs Manager is responsible for assisting in the administration and management of all operational and programming aspects of a comprehensive intramural sports program (serving over 3,400 participants). Duties include but are not limited to: supervising and training student staff (approximately 40-50 students), maintain staff schedules, equipment inventory and management, risk management, and special event activities. Essential Areas of Responsibility
• Work directly with the Assistant Director, Sport Programs to develop and manage all daily operations and services of the intramural sport, drop-in recreation, and e-sport gaming programs
• Assumes the administrative responsibility for the sport programs student staff to include: supervisors, officials, scorekeepers, and program office assistants
• Responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of all staff training sessions
• Provide feedback, as well as end of semester performance evaluations, on all student staff
• Create and maintain weekly staff schedules using on-line scheduling software to ensure coverage and assume responsibility for filling in when necessary
• Track, maintain and organize intramural sport participation statistics for annual report
• Assist with basic web page updates
• Coordinate all equipment management and maintenance, safety checks, and assist with other relevant risk management issues
• Attend bi-weekly professional staff meetings and bi-weekly intramural sports staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
• Applicants must be detail-oriented, dedicated, motivated and self-directed individuals with a strong work ethic, strong decision-making and communication skills, and outstanding leadership skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, Physical Education, or related field
• Demonstrated experience and success in the management of personnel, intramural sports programs, and/or officiating experience
• Current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (ability to obtain within first 30 days.)
• Experience with computer programs such as Excel, Word, Publisher, web publishing software, and/or intramural sports scheduling software (i.e., IMLeagues or Fusion)
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
