Job Brief
High school senior student internship for those enrolled in a formal COE/ICE program.
Job Responsibilities
Work under the direction of different department leaders. Rotate through various departments at CGS, including maintenance, environmental, engineering, training, accounts payable and facilities to provide support on daily projects as well as other duties as assigned. Tasks will be designed to provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to learn about different trades and aspects of power plant operation, maintenance and administration.
Additional Information
The schedule that the plant personnel work is 6:00am to 4:30pm M-Th. During the school year, the successful candidate would work a schedule that fits in the plant schedule, generally a modified half day schedule.

Job Brief
SRP is hiring Journeyman, Electric Utility Lineman to work in our Distribution Grid Services and Transmission Line Design, Construction and Maintenance divisions.
Under general supervision, performs skilled work in construction, maintenance and operation of energized or d-energized overhead and underground transmission, sub-transmission, distribution, services, street lights, communications and associated equipment. Employee is committed to achieve the highest goals of excellence in serving our customers and working with fellow employees. Must reside within a 40 mile radius of elected headquarters and respond to call-out on a 24-hour basis. May be required to travel by fixed wing, rotor, or other means of company approved transportation.
Any one position may not include all duties nor do the example of duties include all tasks, which may be found in the position of this class.
Job Responsibilities
• Digs holes, frames and sets poles, installs crossarms, pins, insulators, and related equipment by using tools as required.
• Erects and replaces all poles and towers by using rope blocks, boom trucks, winch lines and associated tools and equipment.
• Climbs poles and towers. Installs guys, conductors, switches, street lights, capacitors, transformers and other line equipment.
• Performs emergency and preventative maintenance on overhead and underground switches, lines, equipment, fixtures, meters, capacitors, poles, transformer cubicles, crossarms, insulators and related items.
• Installs, splices, terminates and maintains underground conductors, cubicles, capacitors, and related facilities.
• Replaces, cleans and adjusts all street light equipment including mast arms, fixtures, lamps, photo electric controls, relays, ballasts and poles.
• Uses rubber gloves, blankets, line hoses, hotsticks, and related protective equipment as required when working within the contact area of energized conductors.
• Loads and unloads poles, crossarms, wire, transformers and related materials either manually or by aid of hoist and/or equipment.
• Drives and operates trucks, hoists, manlift devices, pulling devices and other related line equipment as required.
• Trains and/or instructs apprentices, groundmen, operators or drivers in procedures and safe work methods.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
Education
Completion of an appropriate Apprenticeship program or equivalent.
Experience
3 to 4 years’ experience as a Lineman Apprentice or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
Hourly rate: $51.35/hr.
Sign-on bonus: $10,000 sign-on for all successful hires (certain rules apply)
Shift: Normal Work Week (includes days, swing, or graves)
Completion of a state or federal apprenticeship program approved by the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) OR completion of a 3-4 year formal training program. (Copy of apprenticeship completion certificate with formal training transcripts required.)
Must possess a VALID Commercial (Class A) driver’s license and/or be able to obtain an Arizona Class A CDL prior to start.
Must pass written exam and demonstrate climbing skills.
Preference given to candidates proficient with hot stick.
