OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas Department of Mathematics invites applications
for a Clinical Faculty position to begin September 2023. The successful
candidate will teach three introductory-level mathematics courses during the
academic year. The focus of the position is managing the MaRC (Mathematics
Resource Center College of Arts and Sciences University of St. Thomas
(stthomas.edu)) with responsibilities spanning the academic year and summer
term. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, and supervising student
tutors. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the placement
assessment and supervise the Math placement specialist.

Clinical faculty at the University of St. Thomas are qualified in a given
field or discipline by having established records as accomplished
practitioners or by having made significant contributions to the arts,
sciences or their profession. Clinical appointments are non-tenure track
appointments that are subject to one-year renewals. Applicants must have a
B.S. or B.A in Mathematics and at minimum an M.S. or M.A. in Mathematics or
Mathematics Education or a related field. The applicants must also be able to
demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and experience in
the administration of tutoring services.

OVERVIEW

The Department of Communication Studies at the University of St. Thomas is
seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher-scholar for a tenure-track
position as Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, to begin Fall 2023

The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory courses in
Communication Studies and organizational communication (e.g., leadership,
crisis), and who demonstrate an ability to establish connections with other

JOB SUMMARY

This position oversees the operation of the Tommie Shop and reports directly to the Director of Retail Services. The incumbent will supervise the FTE and student workers of the department. Responsibilities include the purchasing, inventory control, pricing, merchandising and special orders of all clothing and gifts. This position meets with vendors on a regular basis and submits re-orders on a weekly basis. This position attends local gift/trade shows for each selling season.

This position will maintain a computer database of all SKUs to be downloaded into the POS of the bookstore(s). This position is responsible for the total merchandising of all seasonal as well as regular merchandising throughout the year. Coordinates necessary web images/content of new products to be uploaded to the official campus store website. This position manages all aspects of event kiosks. This position supports store coverage at all three of our locations as needed.

This position is responsible for the purchasing and merchandising of several departments that generate more than $900,000 per year. Works within the guidelines of the university licensing agreement with CLC when designing logo products. The collegiate market is constantly changing, and this position must keep up with the retail trends and styles college students are looking for, identifying those trends and reacting quickly to them.

This position must plan for seasonal buying and the ability to forecast re-orders in a timely manner so as not to run out of product at peak times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Provide supervision, scheduling, and direction for all regular FTE and student workers in the Tommie Shop. Creates a logistical plan for the incoming freight and how to prep it for the selling floor and the stock room. Provides performance feedback including discipline and corrective action when necessary. Makes recommendations for hiring, termination, and wage changes of staff reporting to this position.
• Ordering and re-ordering of clothing and gifts. Works directly with vendors to order merchandise. This includes working with campus customers to special order requested items. Meeting with sales reps and attending trade shows. Meets with vendors to determine how the Tommie Shop is merchandised. This requires knowledge of trends and styles of what will sell. Independent judgment and knowledge of buying trends as well as managing accurate and current inventory levels is critical to the success of this position.

• Staying current with agreement university marks/logos as well as making recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Two years of professional purchasing experience in a retail setting

• This position requires a flexible schedule that will include some nights, weekends, and special events, requiring the presence of this staff member on campus to direct staff, sales and activities.

Job overview

The Department of Respiratory Medicine is seeking a full-time (10 PA) Locum Consultant to join the dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking Lung cancer and pleural teams.

The post holder will be responsible for providing consultant review for both inpatients and outpatients with suspected lung cancer and pleural disease. The post holder will be expected to work closely with acute oncology service to improve management of patients with suspected/known lung cancer or malignant pleural disease admitted to acute wards at GSTT.

The post holder is expected to be competent in thoracic ultrasound, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) and pleural procedures including IPC.

2WW respiratory clinics are currently held at the new Guy’s Cancer Centre (twice/week) and St Thomas’ Hospital (once/week). Bronchoscopy/EBUS lists are held at St Thomas’ Hospital (Tuesday-all day; Thursday-am). Pleural clinics are currently held at St Thomas’ Hospital (once/week). Currently, there is also a daily pleural list and weekly MDM.

Working for our organisation

The lung cancer team currently includes Professor George Santis (KCL appointment), Dr Ronan Breen (Consultant Physician at GSTT), Dr Kimuli Ryanna (Consultant Physician at GSTT), two lung cancer clinical nurse specialists (Imelda Espanillo and Alison Quinn) In addition to close links with other members of the thoracic cancers MDT, Respiratory Medicine has a close relationship with the GSTT Pathology Service that provides expert pathology support for the EBUS service.

The pleural team currently comprises of Dr Owais Kadwani (Consultant Physician and pleural lead at GSTT), two pleural fellows and a pleural nurse specialist (Janeth Naling),and a thoracic surgeon, providing a comprehensive, state of the art service for patients with pleural disease. The service is further supported by excellent radiology and histopathology departments. We run five day a week pleural lists, one joint physician/surgical pleural disease clinic and thoracoscopy lists. The service is supported by a weekly MDM.

The pleural service was established in 2007 and has expanded considerably since then. This is currently the only service in Greater London providing a comprehensive pleural disease investigation and management.
