We are seeking an experienced pre-sales engineer or architect to support our clients and partners across Korea and Japan.

Profile

You must possess strong technical and communications skills, capable of effectively articulating technology and product positioning to a variety of audiences including C-Level Executives and highly technical personnel, with a window into the pains and challenges of the modern Cloud, DevOps & SOC teams.

Responsibilities
• Proactively evangelize the benefits and capabilities of Sumo Logic’s next-generation Observability and Security Monitoring & Analytics, SIEM and SOAR platform
• Work with Sumo Logic Account Executives & Partner Sales Managers to understand customer & prospect challenges & pain points and confidently articulate Sumo Logic’s value proposition, vision, and technical strategy.
• Understand the Sumo Logic high velocity sales process and execute to deliver the key technical outcomes at each step with a focus on achieving the technical win and building technical champions.
• Enable partner technical teams on the Sumo Platform and support their development
• Assessment of customer & partner needs and environments, identify influencers and decision-makers giving input to help AEs & PSMs qualify opportunities.
• Deliver Product demonstrations and technical presentations
• Provide expertise regarding architecture design, strategy, and planning
• Ownership and control of the definition and execution of Proof of Concepts through defining & documenting Success Criteria & then executing against them
• Technical champion building in clients and partners
• Provide feedback for product direction and contribute to Sumo Logic’s DevSecOps expert Knowledge Base

Skills
• Experience as a Pre-Sales Engineer, supporting partner led software/SaaS sales cycles in DevOps and/or Security fields.
• An ability to uncover a customer’s pain, and develop solutions to solve it with our technology or be able to articulate why we should qualify out.
• Ability to effectively present solutions via in person & remote discovery meetings, demonstrations, technical workshops, PoCs, webinars, etc.
• Hands-on knowledge of Security related products, technologies, and sources such as IDS / IPS, SIEM / Log Management, Network / Endpoint Security, Threat Detection, Incident Response, MSSP / MDR, Threat Feeds, CASB, etc.
• Some software development and/or scripting experience (regex, python, SQL, etc.), and the ability to work at the system command-line interface as well as having Query language experience is beneficial.
• Ability to mix “art and science” with dashboards and Visualizations
• Understanding of Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment and the current challenges
• Some depth and exposure in at least one of the major public cloud providers, AWS, Azure, GCP, with a basic understanding of the architecture and security monitoring points
• Familiar with the changing modern application landscape/ecosystem, and the challenges it presents to security teams
• Any Application Performance Management (APM), DevOps and Infrastructure Log Management & Monitoring experience is an advantage
• Korean & English language business proficiency required with additionally Japanese highly desirable.

Qualifications
• 5+ years experience selling/supporting/consulting within the information security space; particularly SIEM and SOAR with knowledge of Observability technologies advantageous. We ask that you possess expertise in at least one of the following: Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, SumoLogic, LogRhythm, Exabeam, RSA EnVision, Symantec SIM or similar.
• Preferable to have a CISSP, CCSP, and/or other security attestations and certifications
• Deep understanding of security threats, solutions, security tools, and network technologies
• Critical thinking with a strategic mindset
• Self-Directed, resourceful, and comfortable in a high paced atmosphere.
• At a minimum, a Bachelors in Computer Science or Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Up to 40% Travel and ability to work in Korea and Japan.
