DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
• Supervises sanitation staff and the second shift plant QA production.
• Enforces the company's food safety standards as outlined in the plants HACCP, SQF, USDA and FDA and Organic Certification and Halal Certifications.
• Maintains the required food safety documentation.
• Reports any quality issues to Executive Team and Management for further discussion.
• Responds in a timely manner to any customers complaints and maintains records for all food safety issues on second shift.
• Maintains open communications with other members of the QA and Sanitation team ensure each is aware of any potential food safety related concerns with product or product requirements and specifications.
• Develops a professional working relationship and acts as an evening plant liaison with USDA staff.
• Ensures the company's food safety programs are properly communicated and plant associates have a working knowledge of the programs through training and mentoring.
• Ensure current sanitation procedures and paperwork is being followed, including the SSOP’s.
• Work with the Sanitation Team in identifying sanitation or regulation issues at assigned facility.
• Helps to ensure that the facility is ready for Third Party or Customer inspections.
• Manages the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Leads Continuous Improvement of facility sanitation.
• Supervises Sanitation chemical suppliers.
• Ensures that all chemicals used in the plant are approved for such use and that all chemicals have current SDS information on site.
• Responsible for the dilution testing of all chemicals needing diluted.
• Develop and train sanitation staff on all steps of each plant clean-up.
• Other duties as identified or assigned by Quality Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in meat or food science or 3 - 5 years of related experience.
• Experience in a HACCP, QA, or food safety supervisory role.
• Strong analytical and both oral and written skills.
• Experience in further processing is highly preferred.
• Understanding of management principles and team concepts.
• General knowledge of plant functions, i.e., production, maintenance, warehouse, shipping and sanitation.
