The Software Component Engineer will join our Software organization to develop our next generation InFlight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite.

As a Scrum/Squad team member, the Software Component Engineer will design, implement and test changes in the Android based client components and in the Linux based server components meeting the quality objectives.

After deployment of the changes, he/she will support the investigation and provide fixes to resolve remaining issues.

Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Responsible for Implementation and Integration of new features in our InFlight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suites.
• Contribute to deliver the software releases to our airline customers, on-time, on-budget and at the expected quality level.
• Design and Implement Android framework services.
• Able to modify/create services in the Android framework, not just caller of the Framework services.
• Design and Implement software changes on Linux based server
• Demonstrate Quality focused mindset in terms of software delivery and adherence to the code maintainability and testability within the phases of software development lifecycle.
• Support the IFEC system Verification and Validation phase and In-Service team
• Investigate issues found to identify the root cause(s)
• Provide Software fixes to the system Integration and Verification team
• Must be able to proactively work with sense of urgency and accountability in an Agile-driven (Scrum/Squad) environment within the context of the sprint commitments interacting with Product Owner and Software Architect.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement process in order to increase our competitiveness

Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language:
• 5 years’ experience with Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related engineering discipline or 2 years’ experience with Master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline with field
• 2+ years’ experience with application development, testing and troubleshooting distributed SW systems
• 2+ years’ experience with application/services in C++/Java/Go Lang programming
• 2+ years’ Android Framework and/or Linux server programming and debugging experience
• modification/creation of services in Android framework, not just calling framework services
• Experience in all phases of software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, tech design, implementation, code review, testing, and release.
• Proficient in Linux platform.
• Fundamental verbal and written communication
• Proficiency in troubleshooting issues during development lifecycle and use necessary tools to measure software quality/performance.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $107,000.00 - $199,600 USD AnnualUSD Annual *. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.

BUSINESS SOFTWARE DEVELOPER INTERN

The Business Software Developer, Intern will work closely with our development team to design, develop, and test software applications. They will support with the development of software applications and automation scripts to assist with visual representation of results from Thales In-Service systems. Additionally, the Intern Software Engineer will be required to review existing reports and documents, breakdown the legacy architecture used to generate them, and standardize them by using new modern toolkits.

The Program Manager will work with customers, partners, engineering and the Lead Program Manager to create, trial and launch innovative value streams, services and business models. • For new programs, implement the Manage Program (MAP) tracking tool. Once the MAP is set up, maintain and update of the program MAP on a frequent basis. Ensure that accurate program records are maintained in accordance with current document retention and filing processes.
• Maintain a program master schedule including key program milestones, technical data deliverables and critical path decision gates.
• Conduct regular program team meetings to review schedule performance, cost performance BOM status, risk areas and customer satisfaction. Risk management is a key role of a program manager inclusive of documentation in accordance with the current risk management tracking tools.
• Routinely assess program financial profit and loss data for the assigned program. Monitor non-recurring cost expenditures to ensure alignment with program budgets and spending plan. Manage budget changes, monitor actual expenditures and estimate financials at program completion as well as the work remaining to complete the program. Coordinate closely with finance.

• Assist the Finance Department and Program Management Operations (PMO) in the receipt of Purchase Orders (POs) from airline customers and aircraft manufacturers. Ensure POs are received in advance of committed shipping dates to avoid potential revenue gaps and customer satisfaction issues.
• Close the project (archiving documents, closing expenditure authorizations) by capitalizing and sharing the enterprise experience.

Customer Definition (as applicable):
• Coordinating deliverables between the two organizations, marketing vehicles and promotions that could drive performance.
• Reporting back to the airline partner about the success of projects, ongoing revenue and operational performance. Comfort level with handling data and information to quickly create slides that tell your story.

The purpose of this role is to provide Employee Relations and Engagement HR services to Thales managers, ensuring that Thales employees have a diverse, interesting and motivating experience throughout their careers within the Group. The role will be responsible for the delivery of cyclical HR Campaigns and Projects that are well executed, relevant and educational. Key Accountabilities Acts as a key partner for the business and HRBPs advising on first line employee and manager queries Works directly with line managers to provide proactive outreach and support on: HR policy interpretation, coaching, educating employee population, program related issues including performance management, performance improvement plans, compensation queries, etc. Ensures all appropriate documentation is thorough, complete and followed through for all employees and by line managers Conducts voluntary exit meetings, gathers information and ensures exit procedures are followed With good understanding and experience of employment legislation, support the prompt resolution of employee relations issues for employees and recommend proactive measures to minimize related matters – this includes: handling disputes, escalated disability cases, harassment and investigations Management of escalated disability cases that result in ER matters, including ensuring that managers and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) are kept well informed of all cases and their status Delivers and provides support for HR programs, activities, policies, procedures and compliance including:, Employee Relations, Employee Onboarding, Leave of Absence coordination, Template and Documentation Harmonization and support, NeoCase and Workday inquiries and support, creation/maintenance of documentation and content on the intranet (The Edge) Work closely with HR Shared Services teams to ensure successful delivery and implementation of HR Projects e.g. campaigns, change activity and system implementation etc. Provide implementation support to change programs and initiatives (Group Initiatives, CoE-led projects, Strategic HR-led projects (typically OD type activity and executive-led business improvement projects e.g. GBU Reorganizations). Support and maintaining consistency across the country and region for all HR activities and proactively monitor progress and act upon it to ensure successful execution of the relevant campaign and deadlines Support the team as needed with the day-to-day compliance of policies and queries related to legal cases and investigations Participate as a member of the larger HR team, in collaboration with HRBPS, HR Operations and COE's to pursue and contribute to HR team objectives, projects and improvement initiatives Assist on Special Projects and initiatives as required: project and change management, and communications for HR programs/activities Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in HR, including experience in Employee Relations Knowledge of employment standards Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and difficult issues professionally and in a confidential manner Ability to provide informal coaching to individuals at all levels and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes Action oriented individual, who demonstrates high accountability, sound judgment and decision making abilities Ability to work collaboratively with HRBPs, COEs, customers at all levels, while taking a proactive approach to customer service and building strong relationships Possess a sense of accountability and urgency Strong facilitation and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite This is a hybrid role required onsite 2 to 3 days per week Up to 10% travel can be expected (both domestic and international) Preferred Qualifications Certified Human Resources Professional designation is an asset Bilingual Spanish/English or French/English is an asset Working knowledge of employment practices and law in Canada This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
