Lead For America (LFA) is committed to building a leadership force of our nation’s most outstanding people to serve in the communities they call home, and to stitch our country back together through a shared commitment to place and love of neighbor. The primary fault line in our country today is political and ideological difference, threatening our democracy and the ideals on which the... United States was founded. Lead For America aims to be a binding agent for our country and actively recruits and welcomes host site placements, Members, staff, and partners from all ideological backgrounds. At Lead for America, we prioritize building bridges across ideological and social divides through relationships with those we disagree with. This means we sit in the discomfort of disagreement and press on together in our vision of creating a strong community for everyone.

About the American Connection Corps (ACC)
The American Connection Corps (ACC) is the nation's largest AmeriCorps program focused on bridging the digital divide as part of its core mission to advance economic prosperity in rural and emerging communities nationwide – particularly in places where success is too often defined as “leaving and never coming back.”

Operated by Lead For America, the ACC program is supported by AmeriCorps, Land O’Lakes, and 18 corporate partners through the American Connection Project – a national coalition ranging from Microsoft, Heartland Forward, to Tractor Supply Company, and other funders dedicated bridging the digital divide.

ACC was first launched in 2021 as a fellowship program connecting rural and economically disinvested communities to affordable high-speed internet. In our interconnected age, broadband and digital adoption is a key thread in the fabric of rural and economic prosperity, and is central to our work of promoting:
• Economic Opportunity
• Health and Social Capital
• Agriculture and Natural Resources

Like tackling the digital divide, ACC members deliver for rural America and disinvested places. They serve in key public institutions in their local communities, bringing needed capacity, community engagement, and ultimately, hope, to ensure access to broadband, and other critical economic and social needs, in rural America and disinvested communities.

We believe in a connected nation, where every community is part of the great American story.
