The Opportunity:

Responsible for maintaining all production equipment. Part of the production team if required. This role will also be required to assist with overnight engineering cover as and when required.

Skills and Experience Required:
• Proven technical competence in both of the following: Mechanical/Electrical engineering
• Recognised qualification in at least one technical competence (electrical preferable)
• Experience of budget control, stock control and resource planning
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations

Overall Objective

To manage workflow and all aspects of the commercial content in The Stylist Studios partnerships, from timelines and pre-sales involvement to relationship building and retention of advertisers through exceptional client service. The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance team working on our Dundee sites.

As part of a small, dedicated Estates & Operations team, the role holder will work to ensure that Business Services equipment and machinery is maintained at optimal performance standards and regulatory requirements are met. You will also liaise with and work alongside outside contractors.

We’re looking for someone who is a proactive problem solver. You should be a qualified multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias, you should have the ability fault find, read drawings, diagnose and repair equipment using your technical knowledge and initiative.

Other key responsibilities include:
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and updating of CMMS.
• Perform regulatory testing and inspections and completing online reports.
• Provide breakdown maintenance support including being part of an ‘on call’ rota involving out of hours response. Travel time to our Dundee (Kingsway and Meadowside) sites should be no more than 30mins.
• Monitor and react to the Building Management System (BMS) faults and alarms.
• Issue work permits and manage outside contractors and service providers.
• Adhere to company HSE guidelines and be capable of carrying out and reviewing risk assessments.
• Build and develop the maintenance team’s technical capabilities through both in-house and external training.

Ideal candidate
• Time served and apprenticeship trained (Multi-skilled preferable), Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a similar environment would be beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to engage with all areas of the business.
• Driving licence essential.

Role

The Subscription Trading Specialist supports the sale of subscriptions through our e-Commerce platforms and via third parties.

About the Subscriptions Growth Team

The Subscriptions Growth Team drive all subscriptions activity for DC Thomson and is responsible for the growth of revenue and profit from print and digital subscriptions. The team is made up of four core functions, Digital Subscriptions (paywall), Subscriptions Trading (ecom), Growth Marketing and Operations.

What to expect

Suited to someone with keen attention to detail, this role supports the day-to-day product offering, pricing tactics and sales tracking for DC Thomson print and ‘print digital’ subscriptions via all channels including our own websites and third parties.

Supporting the Head of Subscription Trading, the focus of this role is administrating product setup. You’ll be a key user of our e-Commerce tools and other systems and databases used in offer configuration and acquisition tracking.

You will track offer effectiveness and conversions, as one of the key people extracting and reporting on sales data to drive future decision-making.

Working on our own e-Commerce sites and in partnership with third parties, you will ensure consistency in the product offer, pricing and tracking.

You’ll take responsibility for making sure offer and related information is correct on all channels to deliver the trading calendar, so that prospective customers responding to marketing materials can access advertised offers.

A day-to-day user of content management systems, you’ll be able to work independently and as part of a team and develop productive relationships with suppliers.

Accountabilities and responsibilities
• Support the subscription trading strategy across DC Thomson, driving conversion, margin and LTV growth across the print portfolio via data-driven strategies.
• Act as a lead user of our Content Management Systems and related tools.
• Be responsible for offer setup within the e-Commerce CMS and related tools.
• Help to deliver the trading calendar for subscriptions (testing pricing promotions and campaigns) in line with growth marketing and brand initiatives.
• Coordinate day-to-day activities with third parties selling print and digital subscriptions on our behalf. Upload offers, maintain product listings and image assets, execute campaigns and provide a main point of contact for the partners.
• Compile and analyse affiliate sales reports, track CPA and successful offers. Provide reporting on overall sales from affiliates.
• Report sales information as the business requires. Ensure all trading activity is tracked to a high level of detail and be the owner of key metrics like basket abandon rates, AOV, CVR, CAC and LTV. Get the most from analytical tools and see that data analysis guides strategy and improves performance.
• Help to onboard new third parties and ensure operational aspects of relationships with third parties run smoothly.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

The postholder should be able to demonstrate competence and previous experience in the following areas:
• Working as part of an eCommerce, digital marketing or content team.
• Coordinating affiliate activity and getting the best deal from third parties.
• Getting the best from website Content Management Systems.
• Managing eCommerce websites and product content.

The opportunity

DC Thomson’s Commercial Operations team is undergoing a period of transformation, adopting new ways of working across a new department-wide structure and creating new functions to support the success of our Commercial team. The advertising design studio will support revenue growth across the advertising department.

Reporting into the Commercial Production Manager the Designer will create ads for customers, work with the sales and operations managers on creative concepts and on new revenue ideas in the digital space. This team will take the lead on larger scale campaigns so we can deliver with confidence. They will outsource any heavy lifting to the team at BORN but will act as a first line support for the sales team to ensure quality and ensure no loss in revenue as a result of offshoring.

What will you be doing as Designer

Responsible for commercial advertising across print and digital platforms, supporting sales teams with design and artwork production. Promote and encourage conceptual and innovative artwork that generates response for our customers.

Accountabilities and responsibilities:
• A passion for advertising – identifying best practice when designing work that will generate response (across multi-media campaigns) both for published artwork and visual presentations.
• Work within the technical specifications of our products to produce advertising that is creative and compliant (taking into account ASA guidelines and copyright law), and exceeds customer expectations.
• Work with creative, production and planning colleagues (including offshore production resource) as part of an integrated and collaborative team monitoring Gemstone, Workflow and Teams channels.
• Provide design lead to assist sales teams on advertising direction putting forward practical and compelling advertising solutions.
• Monitor working procedures and operational environment ensuring that the Company Health and Safety procedures and priorities are adhered to (primarily anything that involves the large format printer and associated tasks related to the production of presentation materials).
• Build advertising knowledge following trends across all commercial industries to develop a key understanding of response mechanisms.
• Actively participate in any training which may be available to ensure personal development and undertake bespoke software or systems training when required.
• Build and maintain a strong network across the DC Thomson organisation

What we are looking for
• Formal design qualification in creative industries to degree or HND level.
• Computer literate, including understanding of network servers and associated integrated publishing systems including Atex Prestige (magazines and newspapers).
• Knowledge of Agfa Arkitex Production systems is desirable.
• Highly proficient in the full range of Adobe Creative Suite of products – and where possible develop – best practice such as InDesign library templates to drive efficiency and maintain brand continuity.
• In-depth commercial print experience, including pre-flight experience and technical knowledge when liaising with external printers.
• Experience of related products including Google Ad Manager, Bannerflow, WordPress, etc.
• Ability to prioritise and problem solve when working under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (ability to present).
• Ability to interpret instructions and liaise with colleagues at all levels within the business.
• Highly organised and self-motivated to meet challenges with solutions-based attitude.
• Meet and exceed our customer service level agreements across internal and external customer accounts.

About the Courier/Driver/Mail Room Assistant role

We are seeking 2 candidates for this role, you will be neatly presented, with a friendly and polite manner , you will ideally driving/delivery experience, perhaps you have been a postman/courier service/ or perhaps you have been a taxi driver? This is not essential to apply, but would be helpful.

You will also need to have some basic admin skills to complete this role, data entry, able to use commercial printers, outlook for emails, and be able to log information onto an Excel sheet.

First thing in the morning you will go to the facility to pick up your jobs for the day, answer emails, print docs, update the Excel sheet.

After this you will then go out to deliver goods/or pick up goods from offices or their facilities in the Bournemouth/Poole or... Christchurch locations
