About This Role

As Senior Corporate Counsel, you would be a member of Udemy’s small but mighty Legal team. You will be responsible for negotiating a wide variety of commercial and privacy contracts and advising the business on a variety of novel legal issues. What you'll be doing:
• Support the sales team for Udemy Business by negotiating commercial agreements, including SAAS subscription agreements, data processing agreements, NDAs, and other sales agreements
• Work with stakeholders from nearly every department of the company to negotiate a variety of different agreements, including government, vendor, business development, and marketing agreements
• Collaborate with finance, sales operations, deal desk, product operations, support, security and other business units at all levels throughout the organization to ensure that agreements adequately protect the company’s interests
• Support the continuous improvement of standard forms of agreement and legal processes.
• Monitor and analyze changes in the law and legal risks to ensure we comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Counsel internal teams regarding company policies, legal issues, and risk tolerance.
• Develop training and other informational materials to educate the team and business on key contract issues, legal processes, compliance, and data privacy topics

What you’ll have
• 7+ years experience working on commercial contracts either at a law firm or in-house legal department, including experience negotiating and drafting SaaS agreements
• In-house commercial contracting experience dealing with SaaS or software licensing transactions and supporting a sales organization
• Strong knowledge of CPPA and GDPR as it relates to commercial contracts
• Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, and a talent for non-confrontational, win-win negotiations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to distill complex issues clearly and communicate in a succinct, clear and concise manner.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

This is a position tutoring student-athletes in various courses offered at EKU. Students employed in this position are responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of the program by serving as a learning resource for our student athletes and representing the Bratzke Center in a professional manner. Our student employees assist in achieving the goals of the Bratzke Center Tutoring Program by: 1) fostering skill development, 2) encouraging critical thinking, 3) promoting independent learners, and 4) enhancing engagement and collaboration with the academic community here at EKU. We are currently accepting applications for this position for the Spring 2024 semester. We are looking for individuals in all subject areas. However, some main areas we will need include: All General Education courses, Psychology, Sociology, Business courses (ACC, Comp science, FIN, ECO etc. ), Criminal Justice, Sciences (Anatomy/physiology, CHE 111, 112, 361, Physics 131, BIO 111, 112 and higher), Math (esp. MAT 120, MAT 112, MAT 105 etc) English 101 and 102, general writing, Exercise science etc,

In addition, as a Life Skills tutor you will assist with general academic success skills to include: time management, review of course progress, study/test taking skills, organization and navigation of Blackboard and other software/policies/procedures that EKU uses.

Pay is $11/hour.

Preference is given to individuals with tutoring experience and/or night availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned as needed):

Customer Service

Drive store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer projects needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly. Follow and demonstrate the Ace Helpful 101 S.A.L.E.S. process. Fostering Great Lakes Ace Hardwares ongoing Business to Business strategy.

Financial Management Control and oversee operating costs (utilities, maintenance of fixtures/machinery, store supplies, etc.) through proper training of store associates. Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives. Review and escalate Sales Report and P&L concerns to your Store Manager regularly. Review department trends and recommend and initiate changes for maximizing goals and objectives. Monitor and allocate payroll according to budget, sales and forecasted customer traffic. Be aware of community and company events, weather, holidays, etc. that will positively or negatively impact sales causing the need to focus on staffing within your store and adjust your payroll accordingly. Follow cash control measures per corporate guidelines with timely safe/register counting, banking and communication with Store Manager.

Compliance Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Paperwork is to be accurate and completed in a timely manner.

Inventory Control

Maintain accurate inventory through onhand integrity, daily receiving, store opportunity communication, product flow, and adhering to corporate metrics and deadlines.

Loss Prevention

Responsible for creating an environment that deters internal and external theft. Responsible for increasing associate awareness of their surroundings to prevent and detect shoplifting. Notify District Manager of any inventory and or cash discrepancies as soon as you are made aware.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Merchandising

Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations according to corporate guidelines; signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure sales floor is adequately stocked.

Associate Development

Hire, train and develop retail staff with goals for growth and success in their positions and throughout the company. Provide performance feedback on strengths and opportunities and recognize accomplishments. Delegate responsibilities and tasks to teach and empower your associates.

Communication

Must have strong and effective oral and written communication skills. Daily huddles must be completed each morning. Have the ability to disseminate information in a professional manner, and cultivate change with all levels of the organization.
