The Nest Clinical Lead (band 8a)

Salary: £53,000 (circa)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Nest is their mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 0–25, living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Nest has gone from strength to strength and they are delighted to be celebrating four years of supporting the young people of Southwark. As they do so, the charity are looking for a Clinical Lead who will build on their past successes by being unafraid to think outside the box and take an innovative approach to children and young people’s mental health.

The Nest delivers a variety of projects, from 121 therapy and group work at the Nest and partner sites across the borough, to a drop in, school engagement and two parenting programmes. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical oversight, strategy and process to ensure that the current provision continues to be delivered to the highest of standards while looking to diversify the service offer through the delivery of a drop-in, group work and parent/carer and young people steering groups.

Please submit an application if you have:
• A relevant professional qualification and registration in a mental health discipline, such as psychotherapy, art psychotherapy, counselling
• The ability to provide operational, strategic and clinical leadership to The Nest working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and wider partners including Southwark Council and CAMHS
• Extensive experience and knowledge of working with young people with complex and diverse mental health issues, including risk assessment and management, safeguarding, and crisis intervention.
• Leadership and management skills, including the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of staff and volunteers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with young people, their families, and other professionals in a respectful and collaborative way.
• A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement, including the ability to monitor and evaluate the quality and outcomes of the service.

The Nest

Due to COVID-19, a need arose to quickly serve our at-risk homeless neighbors. The Project HomeKey program provides housing for those experiencing homelessness, or those at risk of experiencing homelessness. This program aims to provide case management, connection to services, and shelter to our neighbors. At the El Monte location, TAY, couples, and individuals will be served.

JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE

The Driver/Cook shall prepare and package meals for delivery to the designated program sites. When not delivering meals, the Driver/Cook shall assist in food preparation as needed for on-site meals, assist in kitchen sanitation, and perform inventory tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver packaged meals to remote program sites across Los Angeles County.
• Assembly, packing and proper placement and care of meals including ensuring appropriate temperature levels of meals when distributed to sites across Los Angeles County
• Maintain food inventory and prepare food supply order; ensure proper food storage temperatures and rotate stored food properly, organize and keep record of food service items at each distribution site.
• Maintains all indoor and outdoor delivery equipment in a safe and attractive condition, cleaning and repairing as needed.
• Maintain program vehicle in good operating condition, clean vehicle and equipment after each delivery
• Prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, for on-premises dining and delivery to remote sites.
• Prepare raw food for cooking by washing, peeling, cutting and seasoning;
• monitor food during cooking process including testing, turning and/or stirring;
• regulate cooking temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, etc.
• properly package meals for delivery as required.
• Perform regular kitchen and storage area clean up: sweep/mop floors, wash/scrub sinks, ovens, stove and grill. Maintain highest levels of sanitation as required by local and government regulations.
• Maintain safe environment at all times in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
• On-time receiving, transferring, and organizing food supplies as delivered to kitchen facility
• Assist nutrition staff with various production needs, perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
• California Food Handler certification. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire)
• California Driver's license in good standing, good driving record and insurance in force.
EXPERIENCE:
• Six Months experience as a delivery driver
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledgeable of the State of California health code policies and procedures
• Knowledge of proper safe food preparation
• Knowledge of CA driving laws.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
• Basic Microsoft Office suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, with or without reasonable accommodation, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Must be able to work effectively with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 25lbs on a regular basis and up to 50lbs as necessary.
COMPETENCIES:
• Proof at the time of hire:
• TB clearance within 6 months prior
• Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 - Dec 1)
• Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization
• Health screening at the time of employment
• Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Six Months experience as a food service worker, in catering or food preparation
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• First Aid/CPR certification.
