Job Description
The New York Times Opinion section is seeking an editorial assistant focused on project management duties. The job is ever-changing, but the primary duties involve research, fact-checking and collaborating across teams on ambitious enterprise projects. Duties will depend on the daily needs of the department and may also include administrative tasks. This is a yearlong, temporary position based at our New York headquarters. It will report to the Special Projects Editor for Opinion.
The ideal candidate will be open to diverse points of view; have a sharp eye for detail; a strong sense of fresh arguments and good writing; superb research skills; a devotion to the highest standards of accuracy, precision and verification; the ability to meet tight deadlines; discretion in handling sensitive editorial material; and a strong interest in opinion journalism. • Supervise other Healthy Communities staff members.
• Lead meetings and working groups, and engage NYIC member organizations in Healthy Communities trainings and convening spaces.
• Make regular presentations and represent the NYIC at conferences, workshops, meetings, committees, and City and State advisory bodies.

This is a part time, temporary assignment one day a week. The production assistant will help operate our state-of-the-art AoIP studios, outfit content teams with recording equipment, provide support for hosts, show producers and editors, as well as New York Times reporters and contributors.
They will also play a role in the ongoing development of audio best-practices in collaboration with the audio engineering team.
Working closely with the Production Manager, this role will focus on two key areas :
