• Assists with Annual Enrollment and employee benefits-related training.
• Ensure compliance with ACA processing as the primary person to include:
1. Contacting Temp/Adjunct Employees regarding enrolling in coverage
2. Maintaining the ACA database to ensure compliance; to include the Lookback period as well as re-enrolling employees if they’ve not been out of work for more than 13 weeks
3. Managing/entering insurance deductions into Banner/Edison; ensures double deductions are added, if needed.
4. Maintains database for 1095C annual reporting; processes 1095C in compliance with ACA law.
5. Terminates ACA records in Banner and Edison
6. Maintains ACA physical and electronic files
• Serve as the secondary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries,
providing accurate and timely information and guidance.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment, explaining plan options, eligibility requirements,
and coverage details.
• Assist in the development and distribution of benefits-related communications.
• Collaborate with the Benefits Manager to ensure benefits information on the university’s
intranet or website is accurate and up-to-date.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Ellucian Banner software is a plus; ability to perform mathematical calculations in reference to billing/financial information; working knowledge of federal and state laws related to health care benefits including ACA and FMLA; must be able to problem solve; strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Two years of benefits-related experience and two years of general office work experience.
