About the Team:
TrueCar is seeking to add a Director of Data Warehouse to run our DWH & BI platform. Reporting to the SVP of Data Engineering this role is instrumental in how we evangelize self service analytics across the company, visualize and share the data with multiple internal and external teams and stakeholders. This role will be working closely with Product Managers, Head of Business Analytics, Functional leaders and other Engineering Directors. What You'll Do:
Build and manage a team of data warehouse engineers to support multiple analyses and development projects in parallel. Work closely with our Product development & Analytics teams to make sure we are maintaining tagging consistency with new features and able to report on A/B tests and other business performance related metrics. Own relationships with various business partners to understand current and future customer and business needs, elicit requirements, establish priorities and funnel them successfully through the development process. Work with end users to define visual reporting needs for intended audiences and delivery formats Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests using SQL, BI Tools, or Big Data technologies including Hadoop and ElasticSearch. Document data definitions and metrics for new and existing data sources and evangelize new data sources within the organization Work with internal and external audit teams to make sure we are in compliance with regulatory requirements for a Public company. Establish and maintain practices for performance, replication and backups for efficient functioning of the data warehouse. Monitor and grow employees via continuous feedback and training if needed. What You'll Need:
Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or related field 7
years of experience in the data space spanning data modeling, integration, ETL, visualization and self service tools. Solid background managing data warehouse (on-premise or cloud) and data mart schema (eg. star/snowflake, OLAP cubes etc) Experience of integrating monitoring/alerting systems with DataDog/Splunk/New Relic for Data Infrastructure is a plus Experience with AWS data management tools (S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda etc) Solid history of analytical leadership. Ability to develop strong working partnerships with a multi layered, fast moving, results oriented organization Familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Domo, Looker, PowerBI, or similar tools Hands on management style with the ability to mentor and inspire others. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively communicate to both technical and non technical audiences. About TrueCar:

How you will contribute to TrueCar's success:
• Develop scalable Java based data processing pipelines using big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark/Streaming, HBase, Kinesis, MapReduce, Phoenix, etc.)
• Develop high-quality product features using skills in Server-Side Java, Spring, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Maven, and other open source Java libraries spanning multiple product domains and integration with REST API's
• Work within standard engineering practices (i.e. SCRUM, unit/integration testing, design review, code reviews, continuous integration, etc.) to deliver product features with optimal efficiency for TrueCar customers and clients
• Mentor, as well as learn from others, playing an active role in elevating the skill sets of those you work with

• You will work closely with product owners & analysts to understand business and functional requirements and contribute to the design and prioritization discussions

Your Expertise:
• Expertise in Java development
• Java-based experience in the Big Data technologies: MapReduce, Spark, Spark,HBase
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with RDBMS/NoSQL databases
• Experience working with Cloudera/Hortonworks/EMR distribution in AWS
• Experience in writing REST/SOAP services using Java Spring framework or similar framework would be an advantage
• Ability to learn and adapt to continually evolving technologies in the big data ecosystem
