This position helps military students successfully transition and acclimate to the academic environment of UA Little Rock. The director engages in outreach to prospective military students and assists them in developing academic success strategies, exploring... career options, and declaring a major. This position plays a critical role in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming campus community with particular attention to the needs and concerns of veteran students. The director manages all Military Student Success Center programs and serves as a visible resource and advocate for military-affiliated groups at UA Little Rock. This is an enrollment-focused position with performance metrics related to the recruitment and retention of students. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Summary of Job Duties:
The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for answering incoming calls and providing quality customer service to UA Little Rock students, potential students, and parents in a professional manner. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one (1) year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field; plus two (2) years of experience in specialized or a related field applicable to work performed.

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:
• Answer phone calls through the main phone line in the office;
• Assist callers with general questions and concerns about Financial Aid;
• Transfer student phone calls to Aid Adviser who is on duty;
• Take detailed phone messages through a computerized phone database system;
• Respond to emails from students;
• Complete data entry of Financial Aid documentation;
• Complete double check to ensure quality student record processing;
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, prospective students, and faculty;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle are required for travel.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in social services, student services, education, or closely related field;
• Experience working with TRIO or similar populations;
• Experience working with adults age 19 and over;
• Knowledge of educational/career/personal development strategies;
• Representative of the population served (first-general college/low income);
• Experience in overcoming barriers similar to the target population.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Identify and select eligible participants;
• Assess and document participants’’ academic, secondary and post-secondary needs;
• Develop workshops, community agency visits, deliver presentations (in person and virtually);
• Coordinate Cpp1 & 2 grant requirements;
• Assist participants regarding postsecondary admission and financial aid application;
• Document secondary and postsecondary enrollment and financial aid;
• Maintain database of participant records;
• Attain program objectives for the assigned target area;
• Prepare monthly, mid-year, and annual reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must be flexible in scheduling to meet program and community demands on nights and weekends including conference attendance;
• Must have the ability to frequently travel in-state and work outside normal office hours, evenings, and weekends;
• Highly motivated and have the ability to work in various educational settings;
• Experience working in outreach/ supportive services, delivering presentations, and areas related to the development of personal and academic success;
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, sensitivity to and the ability to relate to program participants;
• Ability to work effectively with staff and community partners of diverse backgrounds and educational levels;
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and adhere to deadlines;
• Knowledge of campus academic programs and postsecondary student personnel services;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database operations;
