Unit Description: The Student Life and Campus Community office provides leadership, support, and oversight of: Student Organizations, Campus Activities, The Sentry Newspaper, Sorority & Fraternity Life, Leadership Programs, the Student Government Association and Community / Civic Engagement. The Campus Activities Coordinator also plays an active role on the Student Life & Campus Community team. This includes supporting large-scale collaborative initiatives, working with, and supporting peer events, participating in departmental planning, staff training and development, budgeting, and assessment efforts. This position interacts directly with students, faculty, associate deans, directors, and staff within the university and externally with community partners, employers, alumni and other professionals.

Position Emphasis: The Student Life and Campus Community office provides leadership, support and oversight of: Student Organizations, The Sentry Newspaper, Sorority & Fraternity Life, Leadership Programs, the Student Government Association and Community Engagement. The Coordinator plays an active role on the Student Life & Campus Community team. This includes supporting large-scale collaborative initiatives, working with and supporting peer events, participating in departmental planning, staff training and development, budget management, and assessment efforts. This position interacts directly with students, faculty, associate deans, directors and staff within the university and with community partners and other professionals.

The position reports to the Assistant Director for Student Engagement and 1) implements, assesses, and updates a comprehensive leadership education program and plans and 2) implements community engagement programming. The Coordinator for Leadership Education & Community Engagement (LECE) will ideally have a working knowledge of current leadership theory, models and philosophies applicable to college student leadership development, experience with small and large-scale event planning, experience with volunteerism and community service events, and an interest in civic engagement & voter education. Additionally, this staff member will partner closely with the Student Organizations team in Student Life, work collaboratively on leadership education projects with the Director of Student Life, support department assessment in relation to the CU Denver student experience curriculum, and partner with various campus units in support of leadership education and community engagement campus wide.

Examples of Work Performed:

Leadership Education - 40%
• Develop and/or implement leadership education programs (including curriculum design for student participants, event planning and assessment):
• LEAD Workshop Series (24 per year)
• Leadership Certificate Programs (2 current)
• In person and virtual leadership conferences
• Coordinate co-curricular leadership courses:
• Teach the LEAP program course (11-week co-curricular course on the Social Change Model of Leadership) at least 1x a year
• Recruit co-facilitators, track all participant data, assess participant learning
• Update curriculum as needed
• Work with Director of Student Life and Assistant Director of Student Organizations to build a co-curricular leadership program for Student Organization leaders
• Support learning, campus wide, in the area of Leadership Education within the CU Denver Student Experience Curriculum
• Infuse all programs with diversity, equity and inclusion principles and content
• Serve as a guest speaker / workshop facilitator across campus
• Manage leadership education administration:
• Coordinate workshop facilitators and manage event planning details
• Create marketing materials and social media campaign
• Market leadership education opportunities to students, student organizations, staff and faculty members
• Track attendance in MyLynx
• Manage leadership program events, experiences, and skills in the MyLynx student engagement platform
• Support the design and partnership development for additional Leadership Certificate programs as approved
• Serve as a committee member for the Milo Student Leadership Awards program
• Advise committees or student groups as assigned
Community Engagement - 40%
• Support student volunteerism and dedicated community service experiences:
• Market volunteerism opportunities to students, student organizations, staff and faculty members
• Update and maintain the non-profit volunteer database
• Conduct intake appointments with students / student organizations seeking community service information on non-profits or event planning support
• Manage the Student Life grant funding program for student organizations seeking funding for volunteerism events
• Work with non-profit partners and agencies to identify needs and match opportunities with interested students or student organizations
• Educate students on social justice issues connected to service experiences, and coordinate service reflection activities within programs sponsored by Student Life
• Plan and execute campus wide "Lynx Day of Service" events each year partnering with the First Year Experience program (fall) and National Volunteer Week (spring)
• Support the Assistant Director of Community Engagement with the creation and execution of civic engagement & voter education experiences:
• Create educational marketing materials, videos, etc. to engage students in their civic life for the Student Life You Tube Channel
• Create educational marketing materials, videos, etc. to engage students in their civic life
• Support civic engagement programming events
• Support reporting and applications related to the All In Voter Challenge, etc.
• Work collaboratively with Director of Student Life and Assistant Director of Student Engagement to re-envision the Alternative Service Break (ASB) program for CU Denver
Assessment - 10%
• Gather and analyze assessment data related to student experiences in the areas of leadership education and community service
• Use the MyLynx student engagement platform to track attendance and tag experiences for assessment
• Create surveys in Qualtrics and pull data as requested
Administrative/General - 10%
• Provide staff support for Office of Student Life and Campus Community events and activities including working tabling events advertising all functions of Student Life & Campus Community including the Student Government Association program and the CU Sentry Newspaper
• Support the use and development of modules in the MyLynx student engagement platform (Presence)
• Create and maintain campus partnerships within the university
• Represent Student Life & Campus Community on university committees as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
Supervises:
• Indirectly supervises Student Involvement Ambassadors assigned to projects coordinated by the Coordinator of Leadership Education & Community Engagement
Supervision Received:
• Assistant Director of Student Engagement
Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree in higher education, education, psychology, communication, social science, women and gender studies, public administration, counseling, human services, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
• Previous experience in developing student activities programs for college students.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education, Counseling or a related field
• Experience as a leadership educator, teaching curricular or co-curricular leadership courses and/or providing leadership programs and workshops
• Event planning and / or experience providing training and development programs
• Experience with program assessment including both qualitative and quantitative measures
• Experience with a residential curriculum
• Experience managing budgets
• Experience developing and facilitating diversity and inclusion-based curriculum

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position has been established at $49,500 - $52,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

About this Position: This position works closely with the SEHD Assistant Dean of Information & Academic Technology to provide technology services to the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD). This position provides oversight for the lifecycle, maintenance, and support of constituent computing and peripheral technologies. This position is responsible for technology resource management and service areas to include computing hardware, software, user accounts, audio/video equipment, and technology enhanced facilities. This is a hands-on and on-site position with responsibilities for efficient and effective problem solving, collaborating, and customer service. Responsibilities for inventories includes the full lifecycle of technology planning, ordering, receiving, implementing, tracking, and purging; to include workstations, servers, laptops, mobile devices, and respective software contracts and licenses.

This position will be a member of a team that is responsible for providing desktop information technology support for constituents of the School of Education & Human Development (SEHD). The IT Professional will be responsible for:
• Serving as the primary point of contact for all computer and system related concerns from SEHD constituents; including remote and on-site support services.
• Managing incidents related to accounts and access, network and telephony, email and messaging, security and compliance, learning management systems, file servers, remote access and computing, and application, software, and hardware support all with minimal supervision.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining personal computers, including Macintosh and PC devices, and peripheral devices.
• Problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting across networks, audio/video systems, and applications to ensure best possible usability and functionality.
• Performing systems planning and administration duties including, but not limited to, print servers, computer imaging, file servers, and lab management.
• Performing a variety of maintenance, evaluation, and training tasks to ensure optimal computer performance and user experience.
• Consulting with constituents on technology planning, budgeting, and implementation.
• Managing technology inventory, from acquisition to maintenance to disposal; properly inventory and document technology properties on behalf of the university; schedule technology upgrades and replacements on a sustainable, predictable cycle.
• Planning, maintaining, and supporting technology systems within shared-use facilities such as classrooms, conference rooms, and public event spaces.
• Assisting with help desk operations to include efficient processes, triage and resolution of support requests.
• Exercising pro-active customer service and timely communications to maximize constituent understanding and status of requests in-progress.
• Collaborating and assisting with project, budget, and support management, to include direct collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT), University Facilities, and external vendors.
• Continuously monitor the IT landscape for potential impact, threat, or improvement of infrastructure integrity; pro-actively maintain security and sustainability of SEHD accounts, data, and systems.
• Provide on-call support during off -hours for mission critical issues.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The salary for this position has been established at $4,750, for a fully-enrolled 3-credit course.

The salary for this position is based upon course enrollment. Payment amount per enrolled student varies according to the established rate of tuition for the specific class or program.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This part-time appointment is not eligible for group health, life insurance, and retirement benefits.

As of January 1, 2021, Lecturer positions will accrue sick leave at a rate of 0.034 hours per hour worked with a maximum accrual of 48 hours per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).

The Director of Executive Communications provides communications counsel and support to CU Denver leadership to advance institutional priorities among diverse and numerous audiences. This position works directly with the CU Denver Vice Chancellor for Communications (and University Communications leadership team) and the Chancellor to develop strategic communications and serves as a resource for other members of the Chancellor's executive leadership team as needed. Position Emphasis/Nature of Work:

This posting will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers for the Visual Arts Department in the College of Arts & Media. In 2022, the department had 130 graduate students and 10 certificate students while the undergraduate disciplines had 296 students.

Functions include student counseling, career guidance, residence life, multicultural affairs, support of student activities and organizations, recreation services and intramural athletics administration.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

Position Emphasis:

This position exists to collaboratively administer the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits at University of Colorado Denver as a School Certifying Official (SCO) including:
• Process and submit VA educational benefits in the VA Once system, by verifying enrollment details, tuition and fees, degree audit details, demographic information, course begin and end dates, and course instruction modes through manual data entry.
• Learn new computer software for VA processing.
• Advise current and prospective military-connected students and dependents in attaining educational benefits offered by the VA.
• Respond to and resolve inquiries regarding VA benefits via telephone, email, and in-person, to ensure timely and high-quality customer service.
• Assess issues as they relate to student records and provide information on resolutions or refer to appropriate staff or faculty member (i.e. enrollment petitions, withdrawals, grade changes, degree/enrollment verifications, etc.).
• Maintain accurate and secure files for compliance and auditing purposes; advise offices of Financial Aid, Bursar, Student Affairs, and other offices as needed, on VA education policies and regulations.
• Develop and maintain resources on VA benefits, including web-based resources, VA process documentation, forms, and job aides.
• Meet the education and training requirements in order to remain eligible to be a school certifying official.
• Act as a designated VA approved work-study site supervisor, under the leadership of the Assistant Director.
• Assist in interviewing, training, and leading student employees to effectively assist CU Denver military-connected students in their educational pursuits.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Registrar's Office to improve processes and provide excellent customer service to students.
• Assist in providing reports and information for the annual compliance survey/audit.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
• One (1) years of work experience in higher education and/or a veteran service field.

Preferred Qualifications.
• Experience working in a high-volume multifaceted environment.
• 1 year of experience as a certifying official at a college or university.
• Data and document management, including protecting confidential student information
• Interpreting and communicating complex policies, regulations, etc.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• One year of professional level experience in customer service including the ability to respond efficiently and effectively to customer requests and to use sensitivity and discretion when dealing with customers.
• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
• Familiarity with current online and office technology, personal computer proficiency, especially Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to find effective solutions by taking a holistic perspective.

Salary and Benefits:

The maximum salary for this position has been established at 45,320 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
• Should hold at least a master's degree in Communication or other related degrees.
• Experience working in health communication and/or crisis and emergency communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
• PhD in Communication with an emphasis in health communication and/or strategic/crisis/emergency or risk communication.
