Position Summary

The Pharmacist shall actively precept and oversee pharmacy residents, students, technicians, and interns. Incumbent will make presentations to pharmacy staff and other medical professionals, within, and outside of the organization and publish in medical journals. Incumbent will lecture two times per year to other medical professionals and be published at least one time every three years in a medical journal. It is expected that this leader may serve as Chair or team lead of the Medication Error Reduction Committee and other multidisciplinary hospital and health-system committees. The Medication Safety Pharmacist designs and leads medication safety education for pharmacy staff, physicians, nurses, and other ancillary support teams. Maintenance of knowledge and trends is expected through continuous professional development. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Quality, Safety, Education, and Research.

Salary Range
Hourly Rate Minimum $22.35 Midpoint $25.09 Maximum $27.82
Required Qualifications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Understanding of medical terminology
Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
BLS certification upon hire
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications
Outpatient experience
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Phlebotomy certification
