Event Operations Manager:
Starting Salary Range: $49,875- $71,250

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Events and Student Union Operations Division Manager, the Event Operations Manager is responsible for managing the execution of all logistical operations and providing on-site support for events and meetings held in the ASUCLA Student Union complexes across campus. They will oversee production and technical aspects of events, meetings and Student Union programs including directing production staff, managing set-up of audio-visual equipment, conducting site inspections, and testing equipment to resolve potential technical errors or event issues. Overseeing the student event staff and student programming staff, the Event Operations Manager oversees the hiring and training of new student employees as well as provide leadership, motivation, direction and support to the current team. In addition to coordinating technical aspects and managing event staff, the Event Operations Manager will ensure ASUCLA Event Services and UCLA campus policies and procedures are followed and documented properly, have familiarity with Student Union building policies as well as safety and emergency procedures, collaborate with suppliers and security and performing post-event evaluation.

Working closely with the Event Sales team as they prepare proposals, cost estimates and event budgets, the Event Operations Manager will ensure that logistical requirements, schedules and timelines are carried out according to the event plans. Administration of inventory control, resource sourcing, analysis and ordering processes, shipping/receiving schedules are performed by the Event Operations Manager to execute event bottom-line optimization while ensuring proper paperwork and authorizations are completed for invoice reconciliation. Maintain point of communication between all vendors, crew, and support staff. Attend meetings on behalf of the Division Manager as required. Assists in other areas of the Division, and performs special assignments as assigned. Hours include evenings and weekends and the ability to locally travel.

Qualifications:
Requires 3+ years related experience in event production, event operations or event coordination. Experience must demonstrate: exceptional project management skills, including budget and vendor management; ability to successfully manage production timelines; ability to manage large and/or multiple teams of onsite staff; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment under tight deadlines; solid verbal and written communication skills; effective customer service skills with strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), Adobe Products and streaming equipment & software with the ability to learn additional required business systems as needed is a must. Familiarity with the UCLA campus is preferred. Previous with theater or music industry experience is a plus. Industry related BA/BS or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
