Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Program Manager or designee, the Pharmacy Business System Analyst is responsible for compiling and translating the business and clinical requirements of the MassHealth Pharmacy Program into functional requirements for use by technical teams in the development, enhancement, and modification of the various applications of the Pharmacy On-line Processing System (POPS). The Pharmacy Business System Analyst also is responsible for software development life-cycle quality assurance, including testing and re-testing of software, for the POPS system changes.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Participate in and contribute to the needs assessment and system requirement identification for the POPS solution through technical and functional consultation.
• Facilitate discussions regarding enhancements and solutions for the POPS.
• Collaborate on the development of functional specifications with other organizations with a relationship to POPS or the pharmacy program, including but not limited to the POPS Vendor, EOHHS, UMASS, and Managed Care Entities.
• Develop functional specifications documents for POPS.
• Ensure ongoing accuracy of systems documentation.
• Develop and execute test plans and test cases that comprehensively test software changes.
• Participate in POPS user acceptance testing activities.
• Develop assessments of the cost/benefit and feasibility of software changes and make recommendations of best alternatives.
• Monitor the schedule of deliverables against the program's priorities and timelines, including communicating delays and schedule changes to the POPS Program Manager.
• Monitor and review data exchanges between POPS and other organizations including but not limited to EOHHS, UMASS, Managed Care Entities, and various contracted entities.
• Establish and maintain communications between the various entities that comprise the pharmacy program and within EOHHS as directed, including but not limited to the POPS Vendor, UMMS IT, EOHHS, and Managed Care Entities.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding timelines for changes and enhancements to POPS system.
• Participate in annual POPS Disaster Recovery exercises.
• Assist EOHHS and UMASS with ad hoc requests and/or reporting by:
• identifying opportunities to turn ad-hoc reports into self-service dashboards of recurring reports
• supporting, in-taking, managing and resolving issues identified with external/internal data
• Assist EOHHS and UMASS with the assessment of and/or procurement of related system applications and enhancements to applications.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
2 - 4 years of related experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in complex environment.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills with an ability to take ownership of tasks.
Demonstrated innovation, flexibility, and creativity.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Principle Investigator or designee, the Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC) is responsible for all aspects of collection and management of data for complex treatment, ancillary, and prevention protocols regulated by the FDA or DHHS, and sponsored by federal agencies, foundations, industrial sponsors or UMass Medical School in support of clinical trials.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide support to project through implementation of work plans, and preparation of deliverables. Assist in the documentation of project writing and preparation of material for project meetings.
• Review treatment protocols as they are developed to ensure that the treatment guidelines are consistent throughout the document and the appropriate documentation for the central reviews of research intervention as specified.
• Develop protocol specific tools (e.g., treatment data and/or therapeutic checklists) to aid with data collection and submission.
• Set up the protocol treatment template in the departments database by abstracting the details of the protocol to aid in on-study patient tracking.
• Extract and transcribe treatment data from hospital and clinical records required to complete study patients record and sponsors case report forms. Monitors quality and timelines of data submissions.
• Monitors status of all studies in the database and ensures that all patient data (on-study and follow-up) are submitted, and responds to data queries from sponsoring organization, in a timely manner.
• Track and maintain accurate data of studies, accrual, and patient status activity in database.
• Maintains effective working relationships with research nurses and investigators participating in the study.
• Monitors strict adherence to protocols. Assures that cases are being finalized and reviewed by appropriate clinician.
• Prepares regular reports reviewing the status of the study. Reviews protocol requirements with physicians and research nurses. Identifies and resolve issues with protocol compliance. Keeps principal investigator and research nurse aware of any issues on compliance.
• Monitors notices from the Cooperative Group to ensure that protocol document has current amendments. Informs staff and updates database.
• Provides data to study investigators as requested and submits data to the Cooperative Groups for analysis. Runs quality control checks on data prior to transfer.
• Serves as a resource to physician and nurses to locate information for special reports and treatment decisions.
• Adheres to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and all human subject protection practices.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure design and use of programs and applications are compliant with current standards and requirements Play a key role in the evaluation of new systems, policies, standards, and procedures related to the School & IT partnership
Manage Client Management Tools (Intune, macOS, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, etc.)

Build and update software deployment packages related to security and operational requests from customers and IT.
Streamline the process of migrating systems to the latest OS X and upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Maintain compliance with established patching and updating requirements (OS & third-party software patching)
Document procedures for supporting end-user systems modeled for the enterprise management approach
Function as escalation point for enterprise-wide client issues.
Function as escalation point/subject matter expert for Productivity Services staff facing challenging support requests.
Provide detailed reporting to management regarding current and ongoing initiatives, showing compliance with key performance indicators.
Works closely with the Information Technology Security and Enterprise Information Technology Delivery teams to establish and maintain compliance with system and software standards.
Provide education to the User/Customer community around the proper use of our supported systems
Demonstrated ability to communicate non-technical and technical matters effectively, both verbal and written
Facilitate collaboration among healthcare providers, faculty, and other customers to optimize technology use

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
4 years of experience working in Information Technology in a support role (Desktop Support or System Administration) or equivalent experience setting up, supporting, and maintaining information technology systems for an enterprise organization. This includes experience in process automation, systems management, customized script writing (PowerShell, VB, VBScript, Batch, etc.), training technical and non-technical staff and customers on the use of information technology equipment, documenting standard, consistent support procedures and training technical staff on them, effectively interfacing with all levels of management, building and testing of enterprise software deployment packages using open source tools, PC and Mac image building experience to include OS upgrades, Apple / Microsoft Certifications, Intune and Apple administration and Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office) proficiency.
