• Monitors progression of tenure-track faculty members through probationary contracts and informs faculty, deans, and department chairs of pending reappointment decisions.
• Ensures that all recommendations for reappointment, non-re-appointment, tenure, promotion, and post-tenure review comply with FSU policies and procedures, to include the provision of due process for all faculty members.
• Serves as information resources for faculty, department chairs, and deans regarding questions about faculty employment.
• Leads review and revision, as appropriate, of FSU policies pertaining to recruitment, re-appointment, tenure, and post-tenure review of faculty.
• Other duties related to faculty personnel as needed.
30%- Faculty Development :
• Works with Director of Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) to provide a wide range of faculty development opportunities to support instructional innovation, advisement, research, and other related areas.
• Ensures efficient use of and accountability for funds that support faculty development, to include travel as available.
• Helps to provide effective faculty development opportunities that address the special needs of new faculty members.
• Collaborates with department chairs, deans, and faculty to ensure that the annual faculty evaluation each year is used to guide faculty development in the following year.
• Assists faculty members, department chairs, and deans in the development of plans for improvement.
20% - Academic Affairs Administration:
• Approves on behalf of the provost requests for course substitutions and waivers; exceptions to deadlines for registration, dropping classes, class and university withdrawals; and other similar matters.
• Serves as information resource for interpreting academic policies and regulations.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:

A possession of a doctorate (Ph. Primary Purpose of the Position:

This position is a first-level business counselor/advisor. The individual provides business advice and counsel to all size small business clients with a focus on the SBTDC’s pre-venture and existing small business segments. The individual independently manages a client portfolio of roughly 50 cases annually. The Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades, Reading, and Special Education in the College of Education at Fayetteville State University is seeking applications for a full-time fixed term position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in the Fall 2023.

The College of Education at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a Faculty position in the Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades, Reading and Special Education Department. The candidate must have an earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related Education field from an accredited university. A minimum of three years of successful teaching in K-12 education is required. The incumbent faculty member will teach courses at the undergraduate/graduate level(s) in elementary education, technology education, general methods, clinical seminar, supervise clinical experience candidates, and other related educational courses (reading, math science and social studies; K-6). The candidate will advise graduate students and engage in departmental activities/committees as prescribed by the Dean, and the department Chair. The incumbent will further be expected to play an active role in the maintenance of academic standards, show evidence and knowledge of and the ability to use educational technology and tools, as well as digital, virtual, and online teaching and learning; show evidence of scholarly activity; and display a commitment to public higher education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Elementary/Middle Grades Education to include elementary education, technology education, general methods, clinical seminar, supervise clinical experience candidates, and other related educational courses (reading, math science and social studies; K-6).
• Includes the preparation of course syllabi and classes, the preparation and grading of examinations, teaching face-to-face and/or online or virtual courses and other technology-based instruction, as needed, to meet enrollment goals• Observe office hours for purposes of student consultation meet with students, as requested/needed and by appointment• Teaching load: three 3-hour courses in each of the fall and spring semesters• Participation in activities (usually through committee work) designed to advance the mission and quality of the University, College, and Department programs. Assignments to routine committee work will be made in consideration of other demands placed on the faculty member by the University• Attendance is expected at Department, College, and general University meetings• Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and competence in the appropriate academic disciplines• Research, publish, and participate in professional activity within the faculty member’s field of specialization, or otherwise directed towards the University’s mission
•Other duties will include mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, providing service to the department, college, and university, participating in research, grant writing, and other scholarly activities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::
• A Doctorate in Elementary Education, Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related area, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Literacy Education, Foundations of Education and Educational Psychology and Measurement.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a full-time teacher or instructional leader in public schools.

Scope and Roles/Responsibilities:
• Assist and support Lead Data Scientist in developing experimental design and data collection and gathering plans
• Drive to and participate in any manual data collection and controlled releases at multiple NC Natural Gas sites/facilities as needed
• Manipulate, combine, and refine large databases/datasets to produce information suitable for analysis
• Develop algorithms for data analysis and write computer code to implement them in python
• Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large scale data analyses and model development, validation, and implementation
• Create graphics for data visualization and information display

• Advance knowledge of math and statistics to conduct novel research
• Familiarity with python libraries such as pandas, geopandas, shapely, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflorw, requests, etc.
