SUMMARY:

Adjunct Faculty bring clinical expertise to the clinical learning environment and transfer their knowledge to students by establishing and promoting an effective learning environment for students with diverse interests, abilities, needs and expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrated knowledge in assigned clinical teaching discipline.

• Teaches clinical courses as contracted each semester.

• Contribute positively to the advancement of academics through:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.

• BLS certification required.

• Ability to teach 8 or 12 hr clinical.

Qualifications:

Adjunct Faculty-Lansing-Introductory Networking

Davenport University invites qualified individuals to apply for an opening for an adjunct instructor in our Lansing Michigan campus. The discipline is introductory networking. Classes will be held on our campus and will teach advanced high school juniors and seniors. This special program is a partnership between the university and surrounding K-12 school districts. Class sessions begin promptly at 7:25 AM and end a 9:25 AM, twice a week. Experience teaching Eaton RESA courses is a plus, although not a requirement. The course format is lecture and hands-on experience using both the TestOut! learning platform and a traditional textbook. Instructors must be proficient with either Cisco or Microsoft networking, with networking certifications desired. Teaching experience is desired, but not required. A Master's degree (or higher) in a computer networking discipline plus relevant experience is mandatory. SUMMARY:

This position has oversight for all University Data Center, Storage Area Network, Linux server and virtual infrastructure design, architecture, administration and management. Duties include architecting, designing, engineering, provisioning virtual infrastructures, new servers, imaging, monitoring and other daily routines. Provide architecture and engineering to system wide server networks for all Davenport University campuses. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University's mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architect, design, administer and manage Davenport equipment at colocation data center and disaster recovery colocation data center.

• Architect, design, manage and maintain the Universities virtual infrastructure.

• Daily monitoring and maintenance of 100+ servers.

• Architect, administer and maintain the University ITS Storage Area Network, including the controllers, FC switches and disk arrays

• Administer backup strategies for all University Servers, including file replications and script management.

• Design and implement standards and guidelines for Linux Servers, SAN equipment and virtual hypervisors; provide assistance in developing future strategies.

• Assure University Server backup compliance with ITS Disaster Recovery Process.

• Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including patch management services to all virtual infrastructures, Linux systems, SAN equipment and hypervisors.

• Provide advance troubleshooting for SAN, VSAN, Hyperconverged, SAS and fiber connections and solutions.

• Design and implement security best practices when any system or process is put into production.

• Schedule, coordinate and perform SAN upgrades foreseeing possible complex SAN issues and resolutions with minimal disruption.

• Work with and coordinate virtual infrastructure resources as requested within ITS and areas of academics.

• Coordinate server administration activities with other ITS teams and end user groups to ensure compliance with all ITS Network Server standards.

• Administer and maintain all security certificates with all University servers.

• Provide advanced technical support to the Customer Support Center (CSC) in the event of Linux server, SAN or virtual infrastructure issues that may arise.
