The University of Nebraska at Kearney invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position within the Exercise Science program. The Exercise Science program is in the Kinesiology and Sport Sciences Department and College of Education. This position search is part of UNK’s Program of Excellence Initiative to expand research and community program outreach in sports... performance (strength and conditioning/ sport science), nutrition, and physical activity promotion in a collaborative environment on the UNK campus. The successful candidate will teach undergrad and graduate courses within the Exercise Science program (potential courses include: strength and conditioning, introduction to exercise science, fitness assessment in special populations or research methods); advise undergraduate students; participate in service activities within the department, college, university, region, and profession, and engage in scholarly research. The successful candidate will conduct research in her/his interest area leading to publications in nationally peer-reviewed journals.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree in exercise science or related field (ABD considered) and evidence of ability or potential to conduct research and garner external funding. Excellence in teaching in exercise science courses and the ability to communicate effectively with students and community groups is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with experience in leading sports performance programming. CSCS certification. Data analytics, promoting programs and leading undergraduate students in research related activities.

The successful applicant will be broadly trained in evolutionary biology or evolutionary ecology and will be expected to pedagogically address and respond to the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds... that have been historically underrepresented.
