Economy to start in Fall 2023. We seek a scholar who holds a Ph.D.
in a relevant social science, humanities, or interdisciplinary
program by the time of appointment and whose expertise addresses
one or more of these areas in qualitative and/or quantitative
perspective: economic globalization and its political and social
impacts; international political economic institutions and
processes; debt, dependency, and the legacies of colonization; and
the relationships between global political economy, human
development, and development strategies and policies. We are
especially interested in candidates who take critical,

rich array of backgrounds, identities and experiences to the
Department, including but not limited to international students,
first-generation students, Dreamers, differently abled and
non-traditional students and students from underrepresented ethnic
and gender identities. The successful candidate must therefore have
a demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with
students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds and a strong
record of professional activities that contribute to diversity,
equity, and inclusion.

The College of Education is dedicated to the UO's goal of building a culturally diverse faculty committed to teaching and working in a multicultural environment, and strongly encourages applications from underrepresented groups, women, and people with disabilities.
Position Announcement
The Department of Education Studies (EDST) in the University of Oregon's (UO) College of Education (COE) is seeking applications for a tenure-line faculty position in Educational Data Science and Quantitative Methods to primarily serve in its Quantitative Research Methods in Education (QRME) Ph.D. program. The successful candidate for this endowed Petrone Professorship will be an accomplished, innovative researcher, leader, and educator at the Associate or Full Professor level.

We are seeking a colleague with expertise in educational data science and quantitative research methodology. The successful candidate will teach courses in advanced quantitative research methods and educational data science and will play a leadership role in supporting a data science graduate specialization and growing a master's degree in Educational Data Science. Applications are encouraged from established, interdisciplinary scholars who are nationally recognized as having an innovative and collaborative approach to educational data science research and instruction.

This position's primary instructional duties will be located in the QRME PhD program. It will also include the opportunity to work in the Education Policy Leadership, Critical and Sociocultural Studies in Education, and other programs at the university depending on candidate's experience, expertise, and interest. The QRME PhD program develops researchers, scholars, and policy leaders who engage in traditions of inquiry that create knowledge and understanding founded in large-scale and quantitative empirical evidence. The program focuses on building a strong understanding of quantitative methods, studying causal and complex relationships within applied educational, social, and institutional settings, and using research to inform policy and practice in applied educational and social settings. Linked to the QRME PhD are two popular graduate specializations: one in quantitative research methods for PhD students outside QRME and one in Data Science. These specializations serve doctoral students across the COE and UO.

Given that the field of data science is evolving and fluid, we invite applicants from a broad set of methodological backgrounds at the intersection of inferential statistics, research design, computer science, domain knowledge, and a variety of philosophical perspectives. The successful candidate will be committed to engaging in critical interdisciplinary dialogues. Preference will be given to candidates whose work focuses on data science applications to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in education. We are equally committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty. Scholars from historically marginalized backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. If you are uncertain whether you meet the position requirements, we strongly encourage you to apply or to contact us to discuss relevant transferrable skills.

The position start date is September 16, 2023.

Position Announcement

The University of Oregon's Department of Psychology invites

Rank in Clinical Psychology.

We are interested in all areas within clinical psychology, and seek
candidates who demonstrate excellence in research and teaching at
the graduate and undergraduate levels. Salary will be competitive.
Our department recently established a Diversity Science emphasis
area, and candidates whose research programs build upon this area
are especially encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome
applications from scholars who are from populations historically
underrepresented in the academy, and/or who have experience working
with diverse populations.

Department or Program Summary (updated)

The primary goal of the Department of Psychology is to cover the
entire field of basic psychological and clinically relevant
research. Department faculty group themselves into four major
areas: Clinical, Cognitive/Systems Neuroscience, Developmental, and
Social-Personality. Our department values interdisciplinary
collaboration, open science, as well as translational work with
potential for societal impact.

With the recent hiring of three new tenure-track professors who cut
across traditional areas in our department (e.g., clinical,
developmental, and social), the Psychology Department recently
established an emphasis area in diversity science. These faculty
will join a department that already has a demonstrated history
through its scholarship, teaching, and governance of addressing and
advancing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition,
in 2012 the Department of Psychology created the Committee for an
Inclusive Community (CIC). The CIC is composed of graduate
students, faculty, and staff invested in the shared interest of a
diverse and inclusive environment within the department. Some of
the CIC's yearly goals include an open dialogue amongst students on
the topic of inclusivity, collecting and reporting on data relevant
to current perceptions of the department's success in achieving an
inclusive environment, and fostering opportunities around growth
and development of more inclusive practices in academia.

Applicants may also be interested by the department's involvement
with the recently announced Ballmer Institute for Children's
Behavioral Health. Located on the UO's new Portland campus, this
Ballmer Institute is focused on improving the behavioral health and
wellness of children and adolescents in Oregon and beyond. Though
close collaborations are expected between the Eugene and Portland
campuses, active recruitment for the Ballmer Institute will be
announced under a separate job posting.

Our faculty believes innovation occurs where traditional areas
meet. We pride ourselves on fluid area boundaries and cross-area
collaborations. A large share of the collective research activity
occurs in projects that involve multiple faculty within the
department. In addition, our faculty engage in productive research
collaborations with faculty in other UO departments as well,
including Anthropology, Architecture, Biology, Economics,
Education, Human Physiology, Philosophy, and Physics.

The Clinical Psychology doctoral program has been continuously
accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1958 and
is a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science. In
May of 2013, the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation
System also accredited the clinical program.

The program endorses a clinical scientist model for graduate
training. This model emphasizes multi-level conceptualizations of
psychopathology, comprising neurobiological, developmental,
psychosocial, and multicultural perspectives. Doctoral students
receive training in infant, child, and adult psychopathology,
culture and diversity, infant, child, family and adult assessment,
and neuropsychology. Support for diverse students and attention to
diversity in their clinical training is a priority. Further,
students receive training in our in-house Psychology Training
Clinic.

Minimum Requirements (updated)

Competitive candidates must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or
related field (e.g., Counseling or Community Psychology) at the
time of appointment, have an active research program, and be
capable of outstanding research and teaching at the graduate and
undergraduate levels.

Preferred Qualifications (updated)
• Competitive applicants will have an established research
profile, peer-reviewed publications, external funding experience,
and a proven record of teaching experience, commensurate with
career stage.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach
in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a
culturally diverse student population and that reflect a commitment
to encouraging the success of all students.

As part of the application process, applicants seeking faculty
positions at the University of Oregon are required to submit a
statement about their past, present, and future contributions to
promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity in their professional
careers. You may have worked, for example, with members of
communities or local organizations, in politics, or with university
constituents such as students, staff, or faculty to further the
goals of equity and inclusion.

In evaluating Statements of Contributions to Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion, search committees often consider the applicant's:

1) Awareness of inequities and challenges faced by underrepresented
minority students and faculty;

2) Track record (commensurate to career stage) of activities that
reduce barriers in education or research for underrepresented
minority students and faculty;

3) Vision and plans for how their work will continue to contribute
to UO's mission to serve the needs of our diverse state and student
population and create an inclusive campus

The Lundquist College of Business is dedicated to the UO's goal of
building a culturally diverse faculty committed to teaching and
working in a multicultural environment and strongly encourages
applications from minorities, women, and people with
disabilities.

Position Announcement

The Department of Management in the Lundquist College of Business
seeks to fill three tenure-track positions (two Assistant Professor
positions and one Associate/Full Professor position) in innovation
and entrepreneurship, effective September 2023.

We particularly welcome applications from scholars who are from
populations historically underrepresented in the academy, and/or
who have experience working with diverse populations.

Department or Program Summary

The Lundquist College's Department of Management is a collegial and
intellectually diverse group whose members publish in and serve as
editors or on the editorial review boards of several top management
journals. Current members (as of Fall 2022) are Andrew Nelson,
Lauren Lanahan, Chris Liu, Ralph Heidl, Alex Murray, Anne
Parmigiani, Michael Russo, David Wagner, and Pete Younkin. In
addition, emeritus faculty Alan Meyer, Chuck Snow, and William
Starbuck remain involved in departmental activities. Many members
of the department are also affiliated with the new Knight Campus
for Accelerating Scientific Impact, a major part of the
University's broader efforts to support the study of innovation and
entrepreneurship. A hallmark of the department is the diversity of
intellectual traditions and research methods employed, and we take
great pride in examining these topics from a variety of
perspectives. Recent papers have ranged from qualitative studies on
the rebirth of synthesizers, to field experiments on racial and
gender bias, to longitudinal studies on the effect of SBIR grants
on regional employment. By hiring three additional faculty
interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, we hope to build
upon the department's current strengths and create a vibrant
community of scholars examining similar questions from diverse
perspectives.

Eugene often appears on lists of the most livable communities in
the country. It enjoys the cultural amenities of a larger city -
hosting concerts that span the musical spectrum, a world-famous
Bach Festival, and many other festivals and celebrations - and the
accessible real estate, lack of traffic, and relaxed lifestyle of a
small city. Recreational possibilities abound, ranging from hiking
or mountain-biking picturesque trails to playing nationally-ranked
golf courses to running the same paths on which Olympic athletes
train. (Known as Tracktown USA, Eugene hosts events such as the US
Olympic Track & Field trials, as well as numerous other
sporting events tied to the Pac-12 athletic conference.) Eugene
lies just 60 miles from ski resorts in the mountains to the east
and 60 miles from the scenic Oregon coast to the west. In the heart
of Oregon wine country, Eugene also enjoys a nationally-recognized
food scene.
