Job Summary The Director of Management and Operations is responsible for: providing advisory support and promoting best practices for facilities operations, maintenance, assessment, capital renewal, and life cycle cost analysis at the campuses of 26 USG institutions; managing the USG’s Major Repair and Rehabilitation capital renewal program; supporting prioritization, scoping, budgeting, project team selections, and design review for capital projects with significant infrastructure components; and managing system energy initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with a demonstrated focus on leadership for effective, efficient, and resilient higher education campus facilities. Education and professional background would include campus facility management, operations, maintenance, and analytics; assessment, prioritization, and implementation of capital renewal programs and projects; and campus energy management. Experience at a state-level educational system or in a multi-campus institution environment would add significant value. The candidate would be adroit in communication and coordination with diverse stakeholders, and proficient in the graphic, written, and oral communication of relevant information, data, and analyses.
Responsibilities
Provide consultative and advisory services to support USG institutional facilities management, operations, and maintenance, and assessment functions.Manage the USG’s Major Repair and Rehabilitation (MRR) capital renewal program.Develop and foster professional networks and collaboration among system facilities stakeholders to promote best practices and optimize staff resources.Facilitate training and resources for campus facility management, operations, and maintenance.Support effective capital renewal and preventive maintenance practices across the system and promote a life-cycle cost perspective in facilities management, operations, planning, and design.Evaluate, analyze, and report on system facilities operational performance, and recommend procedural refinements for continued improvement.Assist in the review and evaluation of capital projects with significant infrastructure components, including prioritization, scoping, budgeting, project team selections, and design.Direct, manage, and coordinate initiatives for energy management/efficiency and other periodic system-wide facilities-related programs and initiatives.Assist in the development, refinement, and implementation of system facilities operations and management policies, procedures, and guidelines.Interact with relevant government agencies and industry organizations concerning facilities management, operations, and maintenance issues.Use a variety of software applications to manage and analyze data; synthesize results and prepare reports, recommendations, and presentations.Related duties as assigned.

The Georgia Film Academy (GFA) is a collaborative effort of the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia. GFA addresses the workforce needs of the growing Film and TV Production Industry. Our mandate is to create training programs for Georgians, prepare workers for entry-level positions on the sets of Film and TV productions, and help integrate qualified students into the film production workforce.

In order to accomplish this task, the GFA is developing a pool of qualified instructors to teach classes at our four-year and two-year institutions, as well as industry partnership locations.

The GFA will provide a specific course outline/structure, materials, training, and mentoring. The classes will be facilitated with a package of professional-level equipment and taught in an appropriate classroom and demonstration space.
