Nine-Month Assistant Professor Tenure Track Position

TheDepartment of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (https://health.utah.edu/parks-recreation-tourism) in theCollege of Health (https://health.utah.edu/) at theUniversity of Utah (https://www.utah.edu/) is pleased to announce a nine-month associate or assistant professor tenure track appointment to begin August 2023. The Department is looking for a research-active faculty member who will complement our current faculty and build from the strengths of the College of Health, University, and the State of Utah.

The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda that aligns with current research efforts in the Department and College and holds sufficient critical mass to sustain an independent research lab to support graduate students and research activities. Ideal candidates will have a research agenda in one of two preferred areas: 1) environmental justice and sustainability, or 2) the social and/or psychological connections between recreation and health (e.g., physical, mental, environmental, societal, etc.). The successful candidate should be able to contribute to teaching the core curriculum in our graduate and/or undergraduate programs, seek external funding for their research, and recruit, supervise, and support graduate students.
