The Department is looking for a research-active faculty member who will complement our current faculty and build from the strengths of the College of Health, University, and the State of Utah.

The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda that aligns with current research efforts in the Department and College and holds sufficient critical mass to sustain an independent research lab to support graduate students and research activities. Ideal candidates will have a research agenda in one of two preferred areas: 1) environmental justice and sustainability, or 2) the social and/or psychological connections between recreation and health (e.g., physical, mental, environmental, societal, etc.). The successful candidate should be able to contribute to teaching the core curriculum in our graduate and/or undergraduate programs, seek external funding for their research, and recruit, supervise, and support graduate students.

Job Summary

Sr. Programs Manager will provide administrative oversight and management of 10 disease-specific teams charged with collaborating within clinical care, transdisciplinary research, and community outreach and engagement at Huntsman Cancer Institute ( HCI ).

HCI is part of the University of Utah Health Care system. It is a National ( NCI )-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center comprised of a broad base of scientific expertise, which is rapidly growing. HCI’s mission is to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.

Responsibilities

1. Directs the development and implementation of Disease Center goals and activities, and responsible for the direction of the 10 Disease Centers. Works closely with 16 Disease Center leaders/co-leaders and advocate for, propose solutions, and seek improvement for existing structures and processes. Facilitator and bridge-builder for cooperative institutional relationships within clinical and research activities, research administration, clinical research, and collaborations with the Cancer Center Support Grant ( CCSG ) leaders and programs.

2. Directs oversight of multiple Administrative Assistants and any other roles within a small team with hiring and employee evaluation responsibilities. Oversees all aspects of staff management including recruitment, training, mentoring, and retention of assigned staff.

3. Provides strategic direction for Disease Centers by working with the Chief Clinical Officer ( CCO ) in setting goals that are aligned with the HCI mission. Provides regular updates on Disease Center activities, needs, and concerns for CCO .

4. Budget development for the Disease Centers with oversight that expenditures are within the approved parameters. Coordinate closely with Finance Officer on budget questions and policies. Oversight of the Disease Center Administrative budget along with the Chief Clinical Officer.

5. Oversight of the annual SAIF transfer of funds in support of Disease Center leadership compensation.

6. Ongoing continuous refinement of a manual guiding the activities of the Disease Centers along with a job description of that position.

7. Works with Chief Clinical Officer in the planning of monthly Disease Center Leaders meetings, annual Disease Center Leaders retreat and other activities as assigned

8. Develops written materials, letters, and presentations on Disease Center activities and reports.

9. Anticipate needs of 10 disease centers with oversight of activities, research meetings, patient events, patient advocate meetings, and/or symposia.

10. Serves as a liaison with communications team in development and support of activities by the Disease Centers and team, including oversight of coordinating website updates, content development of patient-facing newsletters, and event marketing.

11. Serves as a liaison between HCI and Huntsman Cancer Foundation on a number of collaborative philanthropy topics, including fundraising, donation tracking, donor relations, and special events.

12. Participates in committees of administrative plans and policies in representation of the Disease Centers.

13. Other duties as assigned.
• This position reports jointly to the Senior Administrative Director and the Chief Clinical Officer with 100% of financial support from the Research Administration budget.
• Administrative Assistants reporting to this position jointly report to the Administrative Manager at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Job Summary

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
• Acts as the key coordinator and contact for the patient, patient care plan, and care team.

Required

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah.

Preferred

Some positions may require additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) within one year of hire.

The University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law invites applications for the position of Acquisitions and Access Services Librarian. This is a tenure track position. Core Duties
• Oversee the acquisition of materials for the library's physical and electronic collections, including deselection and other collection related projects.
• Coordinate with campus bookstore to order books for all law courses, place items on course reserve, and upload book information to Canvas.
• In collaboration with the library team, develop and implement collection development policies and select and acquire print and electronic materials.
• Manage fulfillment services in the library's Integrated Library System (Alma) including troubleshooting fulfillment issues for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Serve as the designated government documents librarian for the online Federal Depository Library Program.
• Oversee circulation functions of the library, including development of circulation and access policies, management of patron records, troubleshooting circulation issues in the library's integrated library system (Alma), and responding to customer service requests.
• Using Alma Analytics, generate and maintain records and statistics related to library usage and circulation.
• In collaboration with Operations Manager, train the circulation functions of student workers.
• Participate in the liaison program providing research services to law faculty and training and support of student research fellows.
• Provide approximately 6-10 hours per week of reference services to library patrons.
• Serve on Law Library/Law School, University of Utah governance, and other professional committees as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Engage as a member of the Law Library team and work to further the overall goals of the Law Library.
• Depending on experience and interest, this position could include supervision of the library's interlibrary loan department.

Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in library science (MLS) or equivalent from ALA-accredited institution.
• Strong service orientation; excellent oral and written communication; good organizational skills; ability to deal effectively with all library patrons; strong teamwork skills, adaptable to additional responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a legal environment such as a law library, law office, or familiarity with legal materials.
• Experience with library acquisitions, familiarity with an integrated library system, and aptitude and demonstrated experience using technology in a library setting.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $75,000-$85,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Librarians have faculty status at the University of Utah and receive generous health, vacation and retirement benefits (https://www.hr.utah.edu/benefits/), including a 14.2% retirement contribution to TIAA-CREF/Fidelity, medical and dental coverage, and 25 days of vacation and 12 paid holidays each year. This position has the option to telecommute one day a week. No evening or weekend work required. A stipend for moving costs is included.

About the Library: The library has 6 librarians and two full-time library staff. The library serves approximately 300 students and over 35 faculty members at its top public law school. Responsibilities

• Assists division with business planning and goal setting.
• Assists division manager with the development of division budget.
• Collects, organizes, and analyzes data for specialized reports.
• Coordinates the collection and preparation of operating reports.
