Purpose Oversee federal and multi-state payroll tax reporting and deposits for the University. In addition, analyze and account for federal income tax and handle other tax issues as assigned. Responsibilities Process IRS tax deposits and prepare quarterly IRS Form 941 and other IRS forms, such as Form 945. Respond to employee tax questions related to UT issued tax information. Review independent contractor and employee classifications in collaboration with other departments. Oversee issuance of W-2s and W-2Cs forms for the University. Intake requests and correspond with proper tax authorities as necessary. Manage and assist with employer state tax reporting. Identify, calculate, withhold and track state taxes for employees working outside Texas. Submit state tax deposits and file semi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports with state tax authorities to ensure compliance with each state's rules. Communicate with employees as needed regarding state related deductions Assist with reviewing activities that potentially generate unrelated business income tax. Prepare accounting workpapers and review income and expenses of such activities for reporting purposes. Assist with sales and use tax & ad valorem tax compliance. Purpose
To lead multiple research projects to inform inclusive undergraduate teaching practices, provide mentoring programs for pre-doctoral scholars, lead professional development to support faculty and graduate students, and contribute to publications and funding proposals.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement research in alignment with the overall vision for Texas Mindset Initiative: Higher Education and CNS Office of STEM Education Excellence research objectives.
• Lead research team on a large federally-funded project: ensure that research aims are completed within established deadlines and budgets, anticipate project needs, identify bottlenecks by probing into different project directions, use continual improvement plans to update project timelines, and lead discussions to keep the project on track.
• Collaborate with the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) to support departmental excellence and equity: conduct and evaluate student experience surveys, provide trainings in inclusive pedagogy to instructors, and adapt and develop professional development programming targeted toward CNS audiences
• Facilitate dissemination within CNS and/or more broadly via CNS communications, presentations at conferences, and written works when appropriate
• Contribute to funding proposals and reports to support research and program development
• Plan and implement a mentoring program for postbaccalaureate fellows: train fellows in basic research and related skills, match fellows with in-depth research experiences, and provide structured training and mentorship with the goal of acceptance and success in future doctoral programs.
Required Qualifications
• PhD degree in psychology, education, sociology, management, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience with research design and awareness of psychological factors influencing motivation (growth mindset, belonging, stereotype threat)
• Experience providing professional development programs
• Experience in seeing at least one large project through the full life cycle with proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
• Familiarity or experience with undergraduate instruction and institutional structures
• Experience in teaching and expertise in pedagogy
• Ability to create and deliver oral presentations and write summary reports
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience with research design in higher education (e.g., randomized controlled trials, etc.) and in projects involving psychological factors influencing motivation (growth mindset, belonging, stereotype threat, etc.)

Purpose
Position will manage operations and personnel for the TXBSPI, which is a UT hub for rigorous social and behavioral science research focused on solutions to inequality in the pathways to adulthood, including national and state-level experiments assessing the impact of youth-focused interventions. The assistant director will work with the faculty directors (David Yeager, Chandra Muller, and Robert Crosnoe) to run the institute and achieve its goals.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the point person for human resources, finances, and other managerial functions of the TXBSPI, working closely with the staff of the broader Population Research Center in which the TXBSPI is housed, and as the liaison between TXBSPI staff and the TXBSPI faculty directors.
• Support the activities of the faculty directors, including organizing weekly advisory group meetings, facilitating communications, tracking progress and performance goals across research projects and other activities, and providing administrative support as needed.
• Lead the execution of all contracts, subcontracts, new hires, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate communications and activities with advisory groups for regular meetings.
• Manage personnel across a variety of research projects and activities in collaboration with principal investigators and generally maintain records of work activities of personnel, assign or re-assign responsibilities as necessary, and lead regular performance management efforts.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and coordination of research studies, including responding to opportunities for external funding; supporting IRB applications, renewals, amendments and training; providing administrative assistance on study recruitment, retention, and tracking; assisting with the drafting of research materials and management of research documentation; organizing and maintaining a library of publications and other research products and interacting with potential users of these products; providing administrative support for grant applications and progress reports; supervising the cleaning and archiving of datasets; and coordinating communications with sponsors and acting as a liaison between TXBSPI and any subcontractors of partners.
• Make recommendations for strategic planning and resource allocation including but not limited to staff time and technology resources and lead the continual improvement of TxBSPI organizational culture.
Required Qualifications
• The minimum educational criterion is a B.A., with special consideration for advanced degrees in social or behavioral science disciplines.
• Flexibility in adapting to evolving job responsibilities depending on changes in projects, external funding, and personnel.
• Experience with staff oversight, human resources management, performance reviews, budgeting, contracts, the oversight of multiple activities, and general leadership.
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and production.
• Strong organizational follow-through, communication skills, professionalism, and work ethic.
• Ability to multi-task and stay focused on the larger picture while addressing daily issues.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with social science research, preferably in the population sciences.

Purpose
This Lead Software Engineer will be a technical member of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Team. They will play a significant role in advancing the strategic IAM goals for services and driving the implementation of solutions to meet campus IAM needs.
Responsibilities
• Analyze, design, develop, and document both legacy and new information systems that support IAM services. Analyzes technical or research related problems and develops software solutions. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity and a high level of programming and operating system expertise.
• Designs and writes system programs to optimize and/or simplify systems-related tasks and develops and documents clear application programming interfaces. Researches available solutions and integrates them into existing computing environments.
• Installs, configures, and maintains operating system components, application servers, and libraries that support software development.
• Provide mentorship for junior technical staff members.
• Lead the development of team software development standards, process improvements, and technical documentation. Prepares system documentation, develops standards and education for users.

Purpose
To provide executive level, professional support for the Chair of an academic department in the College of Liberal Arts. To assist with a large volume of highly complex administrative matters with a university wide scope. To assist with long range strategic planning and meeting goals.
Responsibilities
• Act as liaison with the Deans Office, and other central business areas at the university to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Provide leadership as a member Liberal Arts Senior Staff Organization (LASSO)and collaborate with COLA administration
• Communications: Oversee and/or create, manage, and update all listservs for the department and building. Track office assignments and oversee creation of departmental directory. Oversee and/or create, update and manage departmental website, including creating and managing all internal request forms. Manage faculty and staff lists on website. Assist in the production and submission of department newsletter. Oversee content and assist with updates on all areas of departmental website.
• Department Management: Provide guidance to faculty, staff, and students on policies and procedures relevant to their positions. Review internal processes to ensure that they are in keeping with university, state, and federal procedures and laws. Set departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and to achieve maximum efficiency. Supervise department staff: recruit, hire and train all core department staff; perform annual appraisals; oversee and assign job duties to ensure all department support needs are being met. Approve all vouchers, Workday, and UT Direct documents processed in the department. Serve as point of contact for general questions or information requests. Prepare and supervise the preparation of various department reports, annual operational budgets and endowment reporting. Oversee financial analyst and set priorities for reporting of grant, startup, and other research accounts. Review endowments for updated criteria, prepare departmental budget and ensure usage is in alignment. Prepare student billing for departmental study abroad program and oversee processing of undergraduate scholarships.
• Manage faculty HR and faculty affairs. Coordinate faculty recruitment, including managing job postings and recruitment committee assignments in Interfolio and facilitating external advertisements for faculty positions. Process PARs and new hire tenure reviews for faculty hires. Manage faculty leave processes, including FRAs, SRAs, CRFs, buyouts, and other faculty leaves. Manage faculty summer appointments, faculty allowances, and fellow appointments to endowments. Track and process all clinical and research faculty assignments. Create annual offer letters for all non-tenure track faculty. Maintain faculty personnel records, faculty meeting agendas and notes, and governance documents. Coordinate faculty reviews, including: promotion and tenure reviews, faculty annual reports, post-tenure reviews, third year reviews, and teaching award nominations.
• Oversee emergency and safety procedures, including COVID-related signage. Manage departmental building access procedures: interface with Locks and Keys and ITS to manage physical locks and proximity access processes.

Purpose

Purpose
The Head of Collections is responsible for all aspects of collections management for a large archeological repository. They will manage, support, curate and provide research access to the archeological and ethnographic artifacts housed at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory (TARL) in accordance with relevant internal, State, and Federal guidelines. In general, the Head of Collections oversees management of the Collections team and artifact collections, including accessioning and deaccessioning, researching, cataloging, accessing, and preserving artifacts. They work in tandem with other TARL departments to develop and revise written policies and procedures for care, conservation, safety, preservation, storage, documentation and use of curated collections. They will also collaborate to implement and upkeep a new database system to track all archeological collections held at TARL, re-inventorying and rehabilitating extant collections and supporting documentation using current standards for collections handling and storage. They may perform other job duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
• Manages all aspects of TARL Collections department; inventories and rehabilitates extant collections; processes incoming archeological collections while communicating professionally with outside agencies and working in concert with other TARL departments; monitors all environmental/safety/security systems in regards to the Collections; controls keys and access to collections; conducts regular inspections and interfaces with Custodial Services, Physical Plant, Safety Office, and UT Police department personnel as needed
• Working with other TARL departments, creates and maintains relational database of all archeological collections held at TARL. As part of the new database, re-inventories and rehabilitates extant collections and supporting documentation using current standards for collections handling and storage.
• Supervises and trains all Collections department (staff, students, volunteers, affiliates), communicating effectively (both written and verbally) instructions and expectations regarding working with collections
• Works independently and as part of a team, to encourage and facilitate research by students, faculty, professionals, avocationals and the public. Responds to queries on archeological collections, including data and access. Facilitates tours to TARL Collections.
• Monitors regulatory agencies at the State and Federal levels; acts as a TARL representative on key committees in State, avocational and professional societies
• Serves on core team in review of policies and procedures for TARL for accessions, de-accessions and other matters, as needed. Helps develop policies and procedures for TARL general administration.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology (with focus on archeology) or Archeological Studies with eight years of experience in the archeological field OR Master's degree in Anthropology (with focus on archeology) or Archeological Studies with six years of experience in the archeological field. Working knowledge of collections management systems (CMS software). Knowledgeable in the ethics, legal issues, and best practices governing archeological collections and a working knowledge of 36CFR79 and NAGPRA regulations as well as State and Federal cultural resources laws. Proficiency in archeology of Texas and adjacent states of US and Mexico. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making regarding archeological collections stewardship. Familiarity with interior climate control systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows software and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of pest management for collections. Excellent verbal/written skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proven ability to communicate effectively with broad and diverse audience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

They will also collaborate to implement and upkeep a new database system to track all archeological collections held at TARL, re-inventorying and rehabilitating extant collections and supporting documentation using current standards for collections handling and storage. Responsibilities
• Manages all aspects of TARL Collections department; inventories and rehabilitates extant collections; processes incoming archeological collections while communicating professionally with outside agencies and working in concert with other TARL departments; monitors all environmental/safety/security systems in regards to the Collections; controls keys and access to collections; conducts regular inspections and interfaces with Custodial Services, Physical Plant, Safety Office, and UT Police department personnel as needed
• Working with other TARL departments, creates and maintains relational database of all archeological collections held at TARL. As part of the new database, re-inventories and rehabilitates extant collections and supporting documentation using current standards for collections handling and storage.
• Supervises and trains all Collections department (staff, students, volunteers, affiliates), communicating effectively (both written and verbally) instructions and expectations regarding working with collections
• Works independently and as part of a team, to encourage and facilitate research by students, faculty, professionals, avocationals and the public. Responds to queries on archeological collections, including data and access. Facilitates tours to TARL Collections.
• Monitors regulatory agencies at the State and Federal levels; acts as a TARL representative on key committees in State, avocational and professional societies
• Serves on core team in review of policies and procedures for TARL for accessions, de-accessions and other matters, as needed. Helps develop policies and procedures for TARL general administration.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Anthropology (with focus on archeology) or Archeological Studies with eight years of experience in the archeological field OR Master's degree in Anthropology (with focus on archeology) or Archeological Studies with six years of experience in the archeological field. Working knowledge of collections management systems (CMS software). Knowledgeable in the ethics, legal issues, and best practices governing archeological collections and a working knowledge of 36CFR79 and NAGPRA regulations as well as State and Federal cultural resources laws. Proficiency in archeology of Texas and adjacent states of US and Mexico. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making regarding archeological collections stewardship. Familiarity with interior climate control systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows software and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of pest management for collections. Excellent verbal/written skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proven ability to communicate effectively with broad and diverse audience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Anthropology (with focus on archeology), Archeological Studies, Museum Science or Museum Studies, with strong archeological background. More than six years' experience in a curatorial/collections position focused on archeological collections (preference given to persons with experience in museum-type collections environment rather than field preparation of collections). Demonstrated experience creating and managing databases. Proficient with Microsoft Windows software and Adobe Creative Suite. Demonstrated experience supervising and training students, interns and volunteers. Experience with NAGPRA policies and working with Native American representatives. Working knowledge of American Alliance of Museums accreditation standards. Previous experience working with building engineers and equipment vendors to create a curatorial lab space. Ability to interface with visiting researchers, students, and governmental entities in a diplomatic manner. Experience with outreach activities. Excellent verbal/written skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, proven ability to communicate effectively with broad and diverse audience.
Salary Range
$55,000 + Depending on qualifications
