Position Title: Multicultural Initiatives Specialist

The Multicultural Initiatives Specialist is responsible providing student support and programming for historically underrepresented multicultural/disadvantaged students. Provides assistance to the campus in areas of access, retention and persistence to graduation of multicultural/disadvantaged students of various backgrounds. Assists department in creating an atmosphere of belonging, academic excellence, leadership, and professional development for students through retention initiatives. This position coordinates programs for ongoing and new initiatives and works collaboratively with other offices to support the successful college transition, retention, and graduation of underrepresented multicultural/disadvantaged students. This position reports to the Associate Director of Multicultural Initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree.

• Gather information critical to designing, implementing, and evaluating programs/services pertinent to recruitment, retention, and academia to support the educational enrichment and retention of underrepresented multicultural/disadvantaged students.
• Provide leadership for department programs such as the Always Reaching Upward (ARU) Mentorship Program or MOSAIC (Motivating our Students to Advocate for an Inclusive Campus) peer-to-peer education program on equity/diversity/inclusion topics.
• Engage with students, serve as an advocate, refer to resources, and provide student interventions as needed. Maintain complete and accurate records of interactions/contacts with students.
• Assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of OMSA student staff.
• Work with the Associate Director on preparing, administering, and managing department and program budgets.

Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science
Employment Type: Full time, Faculty, Salaried
Reports To: The Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science will report to the Chair of the Computer Science Department
Assistant or Associate Professor position in computer science: teach multiple computer science courses, conduct research and provide service to multiple entities with the university, community and profession. Courses mainly include cybersecurity, and could include operating systems, Java programming, computer architecture, UNIX system administration and general computer science. Tenure track faculty may teach day, evening, undergraduate, graduate and online classes. The definition and qualifications for Associate or Assistant Professor rests with the faculty and chancellor of the institution
QUALIFICATIONS:
Key Job Responsibilities
• Teach undergraduate computer science courses and graduate computer and information system courses as assigned by the department; maximum 12 credits (contact hours) per semester.
• Participate in teaching courses mainly including security certificate courses, operating systems, Java programming, computer architecture, system administration, and general programming courses.
• Prepare classes, syllabi, and coursework; develop new classes; provide instruction during class time; help students outside of class; provide feedback to students; provide student grades.
• Student mentoring; serving on department committees; assisting with department events; potentially contributing to community projects
• Perform scholarly work; publish in conference and journals; perform consulting type activities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Qualifications
• PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or related area. ABD will also be considered; however, contract renewal will be contingent on completing degree within one-year of hire.
• Teaching experience in cybersecurity, programming/mathematics, and/or other relative courses.
• Active scholarship with research publications related to computer science within the last five years
Although not required, the ideal candidate will have prior experience with Java.
Computer Science is a signature program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. We also offer certificates in Cyber Security, Data Science, Mobile Development, UNIX System Administration, and World Wide Web Publishing, as well as Master’s degrees in Computer and Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and IT Management.

Assistant or Associate Professor position in computer science: teach multiple computer science courses, conduct research and provide service to multiple entities with the university, community and profession. • Active scholarship with research publications related to computer science within the last five years
Although not required, the ideal candidate will have prior experience with Java.

The position requires a Ph.D. in Communication who can teach courses in any one or more of the following areas: health communication, conflict analysis and resolution, organizational communication, or public relations.

Position Title: Athletics Dir (Inst) (Director of Athletics)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Limited Appointment, Salaried
Reports To: The Director of Athletics will report to the Chancellor.
Full Time Pay Range: $125,000-$150,000, annualized.
The Athletic Director is responsible for the overall Athletic Program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and will report to the Chancellor. The Athletic Director is responsible for athletic personnel, budgets, marketing and fundraising; compliance with NCAA, Conference, federal, state, and university rules and regulations, athletic facilities, and the sports medicine, intramurals and intercollegiate programs. The position requires leadership, excellent management and communication skills and the ability to build, sustain, and lead an effective program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in related field.
• Experience applying NCAA guidelines, federal regulations and/or other policies/procedures in intercollegiate athletics.
• Proven ability in the hiring, supervision and evaluation of personnel.
• Proven record of successful fundraising and entrepreneurial involvement.
• 4-5 years of experience in Intercollegiate athletics.
Although not required, the ideal candidate will possess the following;
• Experience administering an NCAA DII athletics program.
• Progressively responsible experience as a coach and/or administrator in intercollegiate athletics.
• Extensive, related and progressive administrative experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics.
• Demonstrated record of successfully leading a complex organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides overall leadership, strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of a Division II intercollegiate athletics department that reflects a commitment and adherence to the highest standards of integrity in academic, financial and business matters, as well as full compliance with NCAA, Conference, and university rules and regulations and other applicable policies as well as state and federal laws.
• Advance programs, policies and procedures that promote and support the academic success and general welfare of all student-athletes.
• Lead by example through a strong commitment to an inclusive, diverse environment that best serves the needs of student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Serve as spokesperson for the athletic department on and off campus; lead efforts to build cognitive programs in line with UW-Parkside’s academic mission while motivating and mentor an outstanding coaching and administrative staff.
• Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating department personnel and assuring their commitment to the university’s academic mission.
• Assume the administrative responsibility for all phases of the intercollegiate athletic program. These include: scheduling, eligibility, compliance, personnel direction and evaluation, athletic facility improvement and maintenance, facility management, fiscal affairs, fundraising, sponsorship, sports medicine, promotions, publicity, game administration and other related activities.
• Prepare and present the annual budget to the Chancellor and budget team and segregated fee budgets to Parkside Student Government for approval and adoption in partnership with Associate AD for Business Operations
• Oversee all matters of policy, academics, procedures and compliance within the athletic department.
• Evaluate the Department of Athletics on a routine basis and make/implement recommended changes for improvement.
• Ensure gender equity and compliance with Title IX regulations.
• Meet regularly with the Faculty Athletic Board on all updates and request feedback on matters related to department operations, student athlete success and challenges, and current and future department goals.
• Represent athletics and UWP on appropriate campus and community committees and boards.
• Represent UW-Parkside at conference functions and actively participate in conference committees where appropriate.
• Represent UW-Parkside at NCAA functions and actively participate in association functions and committees where appropriate.
• Identify, solicit, cultivate and shepherd individual and corporate donors and prospects especially from among former student-athletes, parents of current student-athletes, parents of former student-athletes and athletic minded members of the community. Position Title: Athletics Dir (Inst) (Director of Athletics)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Limited Appointment, Salaried
Reports To: The Director of Athletics will report to the Chancellor.
Full Time Pay Range: $125,000-$150,000, annualized.
The Athletic Director is responsible for the overall Athletic Program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and will report to the Chancellor. The Athletic Director is responsible for athletic personnel, budgets, marketing and fundraising; compliance with NCAA, Conference, federal, state, and university rules and regulations, athletic facilities, and the sports medicine, intramurals and intercollegiate programs. The position requires leadership, excellent management and communication skills and the ability to build, sustain, and lead an effective program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in related field.
• Experience applying NCAA guidelines, federal regulations and/or other policies/procedures in intercollegiate athletics.
• Proven ability in the hiring, supervision and evaluation of personnel.
• Proven record of successful fundraising and entrepreneurial involvement.
• 4-5 years of experience in Intercollegiate athletics.
Although not required, the ideal candidate will possess the following;
• Experience administering an NCAA DII athletics program.
• Progressively responsible experience as a coach and/or administrator in intercollegiate athletics.
• Extensive, related and progressive administrative experience.
• 5+ years of experience working in intercollegiate athletics.
• Demonstrated record of successfully leading a complex organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides overall leadership, strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of a Division II intercollegiate athletics department that reflects a commitment and adherence to the highest standards of integrity in academic, financial and business matters, as well as full compliance with NCAA, Conference, and university rules and regulations and other applicable policies as well as state and federal laws.
• Advance programs, policies and procedures that promote and support the academic success and general welfare of all student-athletes.
• Lead by example through a strong commitment to an inclusive, diverse environment that best serves the needs of student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Serve as spokesperson for the athletic department on and off campus; lead efforts to build cognitive programs in line with UW-Parkside’s academic mission while motivating and mentor an outstanding coaching and administrative staff.
• Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating department personnel and assuring their commitment to the university’s academic mission.
• Assume the administrative responsibility for all phases of the intercollegiate athletic program. These include: scheduling, eligibility, compliance, personnel direction and evaluation, athletic facility improvement and maintenance, facility management, fiscal affairs, fundraising, sponsorship, sports medicine, promotions, publicity, game administration and other related activities.
• Prepare and present the annual budget to the Chancellor and budget team and segregated fee budgets to Parkside Student Government for approval and adoption in partnership with Associate AD for Business Operations
• Oversee all matters of policy, academics, procedures and compliance within the athletic department.
• Evaluate the Department of Athletics on a routine basis and make/implement recommended changes for improvement.
• Ensure gender equity and compliance with Title IX regulations.
• Meet regularly with the Faculty Athletic Board on all updates and request feedback on matters related to department operations, student athlete success and challenges, and current and future department goals.
• Represent athletics and UWP on appropriate campus and community committees and boards.
• Represent UW-Parkside at conference functions and actively participate in conference committees where appropriate.
• Represent UW-Parkside at NCAA functions and actively participate in association functions and committees where appropriate.
• Identify, solicit, cultivate and shepherd individual and corporate donors and prospects especially from among former student-athletes, parents of current student-athletes, parents of former student-athletes and athletic minded members of the community. Coordinate all efforts through office of University Advancement.
• Assist with and approve fund raising efforts made by the coaching staff.
• Oversee Intramural program.
• Serve as a member of the Chancellor’s Leadership Team

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in counseling or counselor education, demonstrated commitment to the ACA multicultural competencies, and utilize an anti-racism and anti-oppression framework of practice. This position will collaborate on the CACREP-accreditation application process, provide clinical supervision to students in the CMHC program, and establish and maintain an active research program in the field of clinical mental health counseling. The Department
The Music Department is staffed by a faculty of highly qualified teaching performers who have concert experience and are active in teaching, service, research, and performance. Their specialties span all areas of undergraduate music study, and students can expect to receive excellent training in the applied and academic branches of music. The music faculty maintains high professional standards in the education and training of its students. This education occurs in state-of-the facilities that were crafted one decade ago.

• Coordinate, develop, and oversee the music theory sequence in the department.

• Teach a wide range of courses in music theory and contemporary commercial music
• Creatively structure and provide supportive activities and initiatives as needed to support student learning and to ensure student success in the Music Theory curriculum
• Teach other courses such as general education offerings when feasible
• Scholarship and Creative Activity:
• Establish and maintain an active program in the colleague’s area of scholarship and/or creative activity
• Service:
• Mentor music students on curricular studies and in career development
• Build and maintain positive relationships with area music educators and performers, and the community as a whole
• Contribute to recruitment of prospective students in the music department through various initiatives, activities, and events
• Contribute to the growth of the department and all its constituent concentrations

Reports To: The Assistant Professor will report to the Chair of the Music department.
Full Time Pay Range: $55,000 – $58,000 annualized
The Department
The Music Department is staffed by a faculty of highly qualified teaching performers who have concert experience and are active in teaching, service, research, and performance. Their specialties span all areas of undergraduate music study, and students can expect to receive excellent training in the applied and academic branches of music. The music faculty maintains high professional standards in the education and training of its students. This education occurs in state-of-the facilities that were crafted one decade ago.
At the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, students enjoy the full academic and musical challenge of a larger institution while retaining the advantage of close student-faculty relationships. Large ensembles enroll more than 200 participants. Music major courses boast a very favorable teacher/student ratio, enrolling an average of a dozen or less music students. Relationships within the department are cordial and professors are accessible and easy to talk to. This position will require applied knowledge of music theory, contemporary commercial music, and music notation software, as well as strong communication skills.
