Join Our Team! Valencia College is now hiring a Full-Time Technical Director/Teaching Lab Supervisor to join the Theatre Technical team on our East campus.
This position will operate in a fully on-site capacity.
This position supervises lab staff and students in the Live Entertainment Design and Production program. The work environment includes a scene shop, technical theater lab, computer labs, audio visual labs, a black box theater and a performing arts center. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach, stoop, crawl, and climb. Some of the work environments are noisy and require the use of protective ear- and eye-wear. The job requires the ability to lift up-to 50lbs.
Ideal candidate will also possess the following:
• Strong applied knowledge of theatrical carpentry, rigging, safety training
• Ability to create standard technical theater drawings using industry-standard software AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks
• Experience managing student production crews, theatrical equipment maintenance, and purchasing
• Working knowledge of networking for theater, theatrical audio and video, costumes and props, and hardware and software specific to live entertainment
• Certifications related to live entertainment are a plus
