Responsibilities...
• Under Limited supervision performs a wide variety of technical efforts including processes, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs RF equipment.
• Performs tests and utilizes various engineering drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.
• May also work on Analog, Digital and High Voltage circuits as well.
• Observes, analyzes and reports test data.

Requirements
• 4-6 Year Experience testing RF circuitry.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings to perform measurements and troubleshoot electronic equipment.
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome technical challenges.
• Experience using a wide variety of electronic RF/Analog, High Voltage, Digital and other electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers and Power Meters.
• Must be familiar with various test equipment, general purpose and program specific test stations.

Education
• High School or equivalent

Job Description: The City of Chesapeake is recruiting a Broadband Development Officer to lead Chesapeake Connects, a 170-mile fiber network that began construction in Summer 2022. Leading a team of six, the Broadband Development Officer will and oversee and coordinate the activities of the Chesapeake Connects network within the Department of Information Technology.

Chesapeake Connects is the City's initiative to enable high-speed internetworking across all City and School facilities and also incentivize private Internet providers to build and offer service to Chesapeake's citizens.

The Broadband Development Officer requires the incumbent to:
• oversee the remainder of the project build-out
• hire support staff
• direct and monitor daily operations
• develop business relationships to further the commercial aspect of the network

The ideal candidate has:
• a strong understanding of and belief in the potential of city-supported and run networks
• a mixture of technical acumen to guide the day-to-day operations of the network and long-term strategic thinking to drive a vision for Chesapeake Connects
• the entrepreneurial spirit required to create a network that drives economic development and value for the municipality.

The role includes promoting the long-term vision of the fiber network and creating and executing a roadmap to successfully provide network access for the city while also supporting local economic development.

Required Qualifications: VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of seven years of related, full-time equivalent experience.

Job Duties

This Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) position is assigned docketing and operational responsibilities in a high volume office with frequent, critical deadlines. This position must ensure court instructions are executed correctly and legal papers are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies. In addition, this Deputy Clerk will also be responsible for assisting Judges, Attorneys and all parties in a case both on the phone and in person with tact and courtesy. Must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be detailed-oriented, data-entry experience, organized and able to multitask. Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and advanced knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to lift/carry 10+ pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing, and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment, walking, sitting, standing, reaching, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Court experience and experience handling money preferred.
