About the Position The Vice President of Marketing will formulate marketing strategies and initiatives to sell Spokane to travel segments and attract overnight business from convention and leisure markets.
They will lead the development of comprehensive marketing programs to fulfill Visit Spokane's mission and manage marketing technology, creative, and advertising agencies to ensure the integrity of Visit Spokane's brand.
They will track and report on the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and programs and act as a brand steward to ensure our messaging and voice continuity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategy Development Identify, develop, recommend, and implement measurable strategies based on industry research, competitive set, and customer data to increase destination awareness and achieve goals.
Develop target market profiles that serve meeting planners and attendees.
Define organizational marketing strategy by developing, recommending, and implementing an annual marketing plan and budget.
Analyze and implement strategies that appropriately allocate resources between convention, leisure, and community segments.
Create and manage multi-channel campaigns with agency partners, contractors, and internal departments to highlight the competitive advantages of Spokane.
Identify, recommend, and implement technology based on industry research that will increase efficiency and productivity and collect beneficial data for decision making.
Ensure marketing communications are integrated and strategic, support marketing plan objectives, adhere to brand standards, and ensure EDI.
Leadership Duties Serve as a leadership team member interacting with and reporting to board members and stakeholders as required, representing the collective ideas of marketing staff.
Communicate board and leadership communications and agendas to the marketing staff.
Develop and measure key performance indicators for the marketing department.
Invest in the professional development of the marketing staff, ensuring that each team member has individual goals and the training and resources necessary to excel.
Work collaboratively with all Visit Spokane departments and work cross-organizationally to create a unified community engagement strategy.
Stay apprised of prevailing industry trends to learn new and unique ideas for destination marketing and management.
Be an active member of the local hospitality community and build strong relationships with Visit Spokane partners, neighborhoods, diverse groups, businesses, non-profits, and regional organizations.
Work closely with area marketing liaisons.
Present campaign insights to internal and external stakeholders.
Provide strategic input to organizational events representing Visit Spokane as the local expert on tourism.
Review and report out annual economic impact data.
