Job Description:

The United States Attorney is seeking an attorney to serve as an uncompensated Special Assistant U.S. Attorney (SAUSA) in the Criminal Division of the Spokane Office. The Spokane office employs over 55 personnel, including approximately 15 criminal Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and 7 criminal support staff.

The Special Assistant U.S. Attorney will be part of a dedicated team assisting in the enforcement and prosecution of federal criminal laws. The primary assignment for this attorney will include the investigation and prosecution of a wide range of criminal matters involving firearms, drug trafficking, gangs, immigration, counterfeiting, child exploitation, explosives, violent crimes, and white collar/economic crimes.

Applicants will be expected to do their own legal research and writing and will be substantially self-sufficient in preparing day-to-day correspondence and pleadings. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent computer literacy skills to include experience with e-discovery and e-litigation platforms, electronic court filing, and e-mail and word processing systems.

This position is temporary, and uncompensated, with appointments not to exceed 4 years. It may be extended without further competition.

Note: Employees of the Department of Justice, including uncompensated Special Assistant United States Attorneys, may not engage in the compensated practice of law outside the office. Administers chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.
Assesses and records patient data pre and post infusion therapy as indicated per protocol, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes.
Assesses patients for changes in condition.
Maintains knowledge of reimbursement procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage.
Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting providers regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
Administers all medications using correct medication, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Displays appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy and other medications, to include, but not limited to: venipuncture, central line access and infusion devices.
Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home.
Triages patient phone calls as needed.
Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy.
Provides nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed.
Maintains patient confidentiality.

Qualifications: Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must:

Be a graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
