Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Coordinator of Fitness provides overall leadership and direction for a comprehensive university fitness program on the Weber State University Ogden and Davis campuses. Programs include: drop-in strength and cardio conditioning, drop-in group exercise (25-50 classes per week), personal fitness training, fee-based instructional classes, special fitness events such as activity incentive programs, fitness challenges, etc., at the Ogden and Davis campuses.

Additionally, the Coordinator partners with the WSU Student Wellness Office and the academic Health, Physicals Education, and Recreation (HPER) department to develop, implement, and promote student wellness. This position oversees 3-4 hourly student managers/leaders/interns, 15-20 group exercise instructors, and 15-25 functional fitness consultants, and 3-10 functional fitness personal trainers.

Other expectations of the Fitness Coordinator position include the following:
• Monitor budgets and spending for the unit; actively seek to create new revenue streams and expand existing revenue streams.
• Assist with assessment efforts of the Student Access and Success (SAS) division and within the unit including basic tracking of activities, program evaluation, and measurement of learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with SAS colleagues, academic colleagues, and other WSU campuses and centers to develop mutual relationships that directly benefit students.
• Represent the Campus Recreation department and serve on various Student Access and Success and University committees.
• Support efforts to increase and embrace diversity.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in exercise science, kinesiology, human performance management, recreation, health, or related field.

Two years professional experience that includes experience in the following areas:
• Fitness and wellness programming
• Hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising fitness staff such as strength and cardio attendants, group exercise instructors, and personal fitness trainers (must be able to train instructors in multiple class formats; must be able to train strength and cardio attendants in proper strength and cardio equipment usage)
• Budget management
• Teaching multiple exercise formats
• Customer service

A Master’s degree may be substituted for 1 year of professional experience. A two year graduate assistantship or internship may qualify as 1 year of professional experience
Certifications: CPR/AED, First Aid or equivalent.

Current certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (ACSM, ACE, NSCA, etc.).

Computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, publication programs, database programs, etc.).

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Assistant Dean of Students (ADOS) is responsible for all
aspects of the administration of the University's student conduct
program under the supervision of the Dean of Students. The ADOS
leads the Office of Student Conduct supporting and contributing to
the overall direction and priorities of the office.

The ADOS provides services to, and works closely with Weber State
University (WSU) undergraduate and graduate students, as well as
faculty, staff and other constituents, to investigate and address
violations of the WSU Student Code utilizing a focus on education
and restorative justice.

The ADOS offers alternative forms of dispute resolution, when
appropriate, and must understand complex legal and regulatory
issues in higher education. The nature of the work performed by the
ADOS is highly sensitive and requires interpretation of WSU
policies and procedures. This position works collaboratively with
numerous offices and may develop and present workshops and other
educational programs to students, faculty, and staff.

The ADOS assists in coordinating the University's response to
emergency situations involving students and acts in compliance with
the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Primary Responsibilities
• Oversee investigation, adjudication and resolution of alleged
violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
• Manage student of concern cases, tracking, and follow-up with
students including making appropriate referrals to campus and/or
community resources.
• Chair Student Assistance Intervention Team (SAIT) and co-lead
university-wide Strategic Threat and Assessment Response (STAR)
Team. Conduct/facilitate the meetings, review the cases, consult
with committee, determine course of action, tracking and
follow-through with students, etc.
• Oversee/Manage the customizing and use of student conduct
management software.
• Develop sanctions that promote personal and educational
development, and maintain University standards.
• Serve as a resource person to administrators, faculty, and
students regarding general and special conduct issues and assist
with and/or coordinate University-wide training and compliance with
the policies and procedures outlined in the Student Code.
• Assist in the improvement of academic dishonesty reporting and
response.
• Maintain records and files of disciplinary cases in keeping
with applicable University policies and state/federal laws.
• Educate campus community regarding Code and University
expectations for student behavior; serve on committees and task
forces.
• Collaborate with various campus offices in addressing alleged
misconduct; develop, implement and monitor developmentally
appropriate education sanctions.
• Promote, coordinate, and enhance appreciation for responsible
behavior and good citizenship; participate in training select
faculty, staff and students for the judicial board; conduct
programming and presentations throughout campus on ethical issues;
handle special projects.

Required Qualifications:
