REQUIREMENTS: Either (a) a Bachelor's Degree in Urban or Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field and 5 years of experience where the primary function of the position was in transportation planning, 3 years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or a Master’s in Public Administration and 3 years supervisory experience; or (b) a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience as described in (a), 3 years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

SUBSTITUTION: Satisfactory completion of 30 credits towards a Master’s Degree in Urban or Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field may be substituted for one year of the experience as defined in (a). Candidates must possess the supervisory experience.

The Scarsdale Public Schools seek patience, caring, and committed individuals to apply for the position of bus monitor. Monitors ride our school buses for the purpose of maintaining order and supervising the loading and unloading of school buses at various stopping points. Requires the exercise of good judgement and the ability to get along well with children. Successful candidates must be able to supervise students in a firm but courteous manner, and demonstrate empathy. Most assignments are for five hours each day, though hours are subject to change depending on the particular route.
