Department Information

The Educational Leadership programs are dedicated to excellence in teaching and in the success of our students. Our mission is to prepare current and future educational leaders for effective leadership roles at the school or district level. Our faculty provide authentic learning experiences, active engagement, and innovative strategies relevant to contemporary learners through an online course environment.

The University of West Georgia’s (UWG) Educational Leadership (EDLE) programs include Tier 1 Educational Leadership (certification only, comparable to Master’s Level courses) and Tier 2 Educational Leadership (degree or certification, Specialist Level courses). The EDLE programs are part of the Leadership, Research, and School Improvement Department of the College of Education and are fully online.

Students in the Educational Leadership programs include K-12 classroom teachers interested in future roles in leadership, instructional coaches, other educators (e.g., technology specialist, lead teachers, program coordinators) and current school/district leaders. Through the EDLE course work, students are seeking to improve their knowledge, skills, and competencies and also gain PSC leadership certification.

Job Summary

Applications are being accepted for a part-time teaching pool. These positions may be available each semester and are virtual.

The Educational Leadership Program at the University of West Georgia is seeking part time adjunct faculty. In addition to full-time faculty, part-time faculty, with successful experience in educational leadership (e.g., principals, district office personnel, regional or state educational leaders), are critical to the mission of the department and the development of new school and district leaders.

Responsibilities

Part-time adjunct faculty are sought to teach (on an as needed basis) in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 certification programs on topics that include:
• Principles of Instructional Leadership
• School Law and Ethics
• Using Data to Improve Schools
• Leadership for Student Learning
• School Operations for Learning
• Schools and Community Engagement
• School Finance and Resource Management
• Ethics in Educational Leadership
• Leadership for Organizational Change and Improvement
• Effective Management to Promote Student Learning
• Instructional Leadership for Improving Schools
• Leadership for Equity and Excellence

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
• An earned terminal degree in Educational Leadership or related field from an accredited institution

Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of three years' experience as a practicing PK-12 educational leader

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Georgia Professional Standards Commission policies and procedures
• Online teaching experience

Department Information

The Management Department is dedicated to preparing students for the workforce of the future. Our B.B.A. in Management Information Systems (MIS) prepares students for a variety of different organizations and industries. In addition to our traditional MIS track, students can focus their studies in one of our two concentrations: Enterprise Systems and Data Analytics, and IoT, Networking, and Cyber Security.

Job Summary The Department of Management at the University of West Georgia invites applications for part-time Instructors of Management Information Systems. If openings are available, the appointments will begin each semester and may be renewed. The positions are contingent on funding and enrollment. Required Qualifications

Terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in MIS or related field; or a Master’s degree (MBA) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in MIS-related coursework.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience and/or teaching experience in MIS or related field. Experience with Cisco or SAP.
