Department Information
The Educational Leadership programs are dedicated to excellence in teaching and in the success of our students. Our mission is to prepare current and future educational leaders for effective leadership roles at the school or district level. Our faculty provide authentic learning experiences, active engagement, and innovative strategies relevant to contemporary learners through an online course environment.
The University of West Georgia’s (UWG) Educational Leadership (EDLE) programs include Tier 1 Educational Leadership (certification only, comparable to Master’s Level courses) and Tier 2 Educational Leadership (degree or certification, Specialist Level courses). The EDLE programs are part of the Leadership, Research, and School Improvement Department of the College of Education and are fully online.
Students in the Educational Leadership programs include K-12 classroom teachers interested in future roles in leadership, instructional coaches, other educators (e.g., technology specialist, lead teachers, program coordinators) and current school/district leaders. Through the EDLE course work, students are seeking to improve their knowledge, skills, and competencies and also gain PSC leadership certification.

Our B.B.A. in Management Information Systems (MIS) prepares students for a variety of different organizations and industries. In addition to our traditional MIS track, students can focus their studies in one of our two concentrations: Enterprise Systems and Data Analytics, and IoT, Networking, and Cyber Security.

Job Summary
The History program at the University of West Georgia invites applications for an Assistant or Associate rank tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2022. The faculty position will direct an established public history and museum studies program, teach graduate and undergraduate courses in public history, and serve on graduate committees. The Position also serves as the Director of our award-winning Center for Public History, which includes the oversight, development and management of the Center's public history projects, grants, the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student staff, and engaging with local and regional communities and public history agencies.

The SLP program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors to assist with supervision in the Comprehensive Community Clinic. These positions may be available every semester.

With an overarching emphasis on preparing exemplary practitioners who make meaningful contributions to the community and lives of the individuals with whom they work, faculty in our programs provide innovative programs in the following areas: Communication Sciences and Disorders, Counselor Education, Higher Education Administration, and College Student Affairs.
Job Summary
The Master of Education (MEd) education program in speech-language pathology at the University of West Georgia is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In the graduate program at UWG, students complete closely supervised practical and/or internships in a variety of settings and with persons of varying ages. The Comprehensive Community Clinic that is housed in the College of Education provides opportunities for students to complete a number of clinical hours on the campus. However, students are required to complete clinical hours in other settings.
The program prepares students for a professional career in the identification, assessment, and treatment of all communication disorders, including language, articulation, voice, resonance, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Successful completion of program and other professional requirements is designed to lead the applicant toward obtaining a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Speech-Language Pathology, Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) certification, Georgia Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology, and ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
Responsibilities
Potential clinical supervisors would assist with class SLPA 6790 Clinical Practice and Methods in SLP I, or 6791 Clinical Practice and Methods in SLP II.
Required Qualifications

Job Summary
Opportunity to work with primary sources- including archival materials and rare books-and learn practical skills that are particularly relevant for those who wish to purse doctoral work and/or the professional field of librarianship, archival science, or history. Experience is not necessary; training will be provided. Work will be supervised by the Head of Special Collections.
Summer Semester work weeks will be June 1-July 14.
Duties will include:
• Arrange and describe archival collections
• Prepare inventories and finding aids of archival collections, including use of archival management software
• Research archival subjects pertaining to collections in processing
• Assist researchers
• Digitize materials and create metadata
• Potential to assist in teaching, exhibits, and events
• Re-house materials as necessary
• Retrieve and reshelve record storage boxes
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; Must be fully accepted into a graduate degree program
• Must be enrolled in 3 credit hours for Summer Semester, any session
• Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to climb stepladders
