Job Description Summary
Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, the School of Professional Studies is the newest school from Wake Forest University. SPS houses innovative graduate degree and non-degree programs, including certificates and other credentials, for working professionals.

The Executive Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing financial and administrative operations to support the financial and other performance goals of the School. This includes developing and implementing financial strategies, leading, and managing budgets, promoting an inclusive work environment, maximizing resources to support efficiency and productivity, managing risk, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, implementing relevant policies, and improving financial processes. Job Description

Essential Functions:
• Develops and implements financial strategies and manages, directs, and organizes the financial and business operating functions to ensure the organization’s financial stability.
• Provides leadership on resource allocation, expenditures processing and development of short- and long-range fiscal plans that ensure consistency with the University’s strategic fiscal goals and objectives.
• Conducts forecasting, sensitivity/scenario, and other analysis in order to provide proactive recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of SPS operations across all functions.
• Enhance human resources capacity as the School scales, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting.
• Develops and implements strategies to promote a culture of inclusivity and productivity within the School.
• Provides projections or forecasts of expenses in comparison to budget categories/line items to avoid deficits, optimize use of available funds, adhere to approved budget parameters, and recommend financial strategies to inform program pricing decisions.
• Oversee administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the needs of the School evolve.
• Prepares annual operating budget proposals and provides ongoing and ad hoc budget analysis and oversight.
• Develops and/or analyzes student enrollment trends and other special project projections including program pro forma, ROI and breakeven analysis to identify the impact of enrollment on School and University budgets.
• Manages the financial activity of revenue sharing programs to ensure proper allocation and accounting.
• Conducts regular internal reviews to ensure accuracy and efficiency of procedures and processes.
• Serves as primary liaison with University Financial Services.
• Assists in the preparation of reports in response to external and internal requests for financial information.
• Establishes policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial oversight and develops and evaluates goals and objectives to monitor effectiveness.

• Master’s Degree in Business, Finance or a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience plus ten or more years of related experience.

Job Description:

The Program in African American Studies and the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University seek an engaged, creative, and committed teacher-scholar to become an Assistant Teaching Professor. The Assistant Teaching Professor will join an innovative and interdisciplinary cohort of emerging scholars from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences to develop and teach leadership and character-related courses within and across their respective disciplines. This full-time, non-tenure track position with benefits offers an initial two-year appointment with possibility of renewal and promotion on a teaching-centered career path. Because of the teaching-centric nature of the role, responsibilities are divided as 80% teaching and 20% service. The Assistant Teaching Professor will teach three courses per semester (a 3:3 load) and contribute to the co-curricular programming of the Program for Leadership and Character and the Program in African American Studies. The Assistant Teaching Professor will benefit from course development workshops and mentoring from faculty in both programs and support for professional and scholarly development.

The Department of Education and the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University seek a thoughtful, engaged, and creative scholar to become a Postdoctoral Fellow for two years. The Postdoctoral Fellow will teach 2 courses per year (a 1:1) and contribute to character education research and programming for Winston-Salem TEACH, an inter-institutional collaboration between the Education departments at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, and Salem College, in collaboration with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS). The Postdoctoral Fellow will benefit from course development workshops and mentoring from faculty in both programs. The fellowship aims to equip an emerging scholar and educator to integrate character education in undergraduate teacher preparation and develop resources for K-12 schools who seek to educate character in their contexts.

The two-year fellowship is funded by a grant from the Kern Family Foundation. We welcome recent PhDs or EdDs in education or related fields where the candidate has pursued research and/or teaching related to character, ethics, and/or justice in the context of education. • Security checks of buildings/properties owned or leased by Wake Forest University patrolling all levels of interior and exterior perimeter of buildings during the entire shift.

Reports to the University Police Communications any damaged property, vandalism, suspicious activity, criminal activity, open doors or propped doors, light outages, unsafe conditions, unsecured hazardous materials, found property or assistance given to Patrol Officers or Residence Life & Housing staff members. • Gate House Operations: (If assigned): Monitors all vehicle traffic entering the Reynolda Campus. Checks all vehicles entering the campus for a valid Wake Forest registration in the form of a gate pass or hangtag. Gatehouses are staffed 365 days a year and Security officers assigned are required to work in adverse weather conditions. Verifies via telephone and logbooks any student, staff, faculty or alumni who’s WFU ID will not allow them to enter the campus. Log the name and driver’s license number of any unregistered visitor along with their vehicle information.
