Job Duties: (10%) Work as part of Whitepages’ engineering leadership to design and develop solutions to complex applications problems utilizing understanding of end-to-end architecture. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science or the foreign degree equivalent, and three (3) years of experience engineering distributed systems that process large amounts of data to meet development milestones and business requirements. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or the foreign degree equivalent and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience engineering distributed systems that process large amounts of data to meet development milestones and business requirements, including:
3 years of experience utilizing understanding of end-to-end architecture to engineer solutions;
3 years of experience designing network APIs for highly scalable, low latency webservices;
3 years of experience in CD/CI pipeline;
3 years of experience utilizing Apache Spark, ElasticSearch, Scala, Python, Kubernetes, and AWS; and
Designing, developing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining at least one software product feature.
Must be willing and able to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Experience may be gained concurrently.

We are looking for an Accounting Manager who has a passion for managing multiple priorities and excels in a small company environment; ensuring accounting activities related to revenue, billing, AR, AP, expense reporting, cc processing, and our month-end all run smoothly. You will also be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for sales tax and the management software (currently Vertex) as well as our billing software (currently Zuora). You like to "roll up your sleeves" and "dig into", investigate and solve technical challenges within the software. There is also the growth opportunity in this role to support the VP of Acctg/Finance with budgeting tasks and forecast modeling. You will also flex and grow your supervisory/ management skills and manage/mentor one other accountant. This is a full-time position located in Seattle, with remote work from home opportunities, coupled with days in our downtown office.
Job Responsibilities
• Oversee and ensure all duties related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Revenue are completed in a timely manner, according to GAAP.
• Act as the SME for the Zuora (or current) billing system on the accounting side; work closely with the Fraud and Payments team to trouble-shoot billing issues. Understand transaction flow from website to Zuora. Work with engineering and product on Zuora system issues and answer any functionality questions.
• Record and review month-end revenue from Zuora and Mobile App Stores ensuring monthly revenues are properly recognized for financial reporting purposes in accordance with GAAP.
• Review reconciliation of credit card receipts with Zuora and payment gateways and bank.
• Prepare audit schedules and other documentation to support independent auditor annual audits, as needed.
• Oversee and prepare, review and process journal entries as needed.
• Oversee General Ledger and QuickBooks system maintenance.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure the accurate and timely generation of monthly financial statements
• Manage the monthly/year-end accounting close process.
• Provide oversight and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work with VP Accounting/Finance to establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Research technical accounting issues in accordance with GAAP and prepare related memos.
• Manage annual audit process with outside auditors.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Assists with other special projects as assigned.
• Manage, review, and mentor other accounting and finance personnel.
Tax
• Act as SME for sales tax accounting software (currently Vertex) and work with VP Accounting/Finance on staying current on any changes in the sales tax landscape.
• Work with the Fraud & Payments team regarding integration, troubleshooting and reporting within tax software.
• Ensure the company is in compliance with any business licenses or annual secretary state filings.
• Complete local and state monthly/quarterly/annual tax returns and filings for respective jurisdictions on time as they become due.
• Assist VP Accounting/Finance with estimated payment calculation, tax provision and annual tax workpapers to outside tax firm.
• Coordinate with outside transfer agent service to register in states as needed as well as secretary of state filings in various states.
Technical knowledge, skills, education and experience
• BA in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience
• 1+ years supervisory, team lead or manager experience preferred.
• GAAP accounting knowledge
• Proficient Microsoft Office applications, with advanced MS Excel skills
• Proven success working in technical platforms to research and solve issues.
• Experience working in QuickBooks or other accounting system.
• Experience working with Billing software related to ASC606 preferred.
• Proven ability to be flexible and nimble in a fast moving and fluid environment.
