The Wisconsin DNR is hiring 2 dual LTE – Natural Resources Customer Service Representatives in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

Each of these dual LTE appointments is comprised of two 20-hour positions for an expected work schedule of 40 hours per week. The intention is to hire two candidates on both positions. See below for more information on the positions.

Position Summary

Position1,

Licensing/Outdoor Specialist:

This position has primary responsibility for serving as a processing expert for hunting, fishing and trapping public contacts. The position will assist customers with the procurement of licenses and will answer questions relating to all aspects of hunting, fishing and trapping.

50% - Provision of information on a full range of DNR topics to the public concerning hunting and fishing laws, requirements and procedures pertaining to licensing; Wisconsin residency, and DNR programs. Service as a primary point of contact for analyzing complex questions. Explain program policies and procedures in responding to customer requests. Apply department regulations and statutory requirements to customer circumstances in determining correct actions and responses. Assist entry level staff with challenging questions.

25% - With minimal assistance, respond to moderate to highly complex inquires from the public, provide information concerning legal requirements, departmental, division and bureau procedures, and assist in the resolution of Wisconsin hunting, fishing and trapping harvest registration and regulation issues.

15% - Review and explain entries listed on customer records and record abstracts to inform individuals of point accumulations for bear, bobcat, fisher, and turkey drawings.

10% - Process disabled hunter permit applications. Evaluate information provided on application and determine through consideration of state statute and physician's recommendation. Independently issue discretionary disabled hunter permits that do not fall within the eligibility criteria of standard Shoot from Vehicle or Troll permits, but are within the spirit of the law. Serve as a point of contact for persons denied permit, assist them in understanding the eligibility criteria and alternative activities they can engage in to legally hunt. Explain the appeals process.

Position 2,

Vehicle Registration Specialist:

This position has primary responsibility serving as a processing expert for registrations, transfers and titling requirements. This position also processes applications, authenticates documents, determines eligibility, issues registration and titles, and provides support for complex vehicle transactions through application of state statutes, administrative rules, and policies/procedures through application of state statutes, administrative rules, and policies/procedures.

50% - Provision of Vehicle Registration and Titling Services to the public consistent with recreational vehicle laws, administrative rules and departmental, division, and bureau policies/procedures. Determine registration and titling needs of the public. Determine and request necessary supporting documents/forms, and review for authenticity and acceptability. Determine correct fees through review and application of appropriate fee schedules; collect and record fees/issue receipts. Prepare and/or issue registrations and titles to the public and resolve problem transactions. Sort/process daily mail to ensure registrations are completed timely.

25% - Staff and Customer Support. Serve as internal contact for registration questions. Serve as program expert to external customers for escalations. Identify/resolve problems requiring extensive knowledge and interpretation of DNR policy/rules; recommend changes to standard operating policies. Participate in training sessions with new CSR staff.

15% - Provision of sound financial/cash handling practices. Reconciling transactions ensuring money is appropriated correctly for each transaction/batch processed, batches balance once completed for employee and others transactions. Resolve any balance discrepancies for batches processed. Deposit checks for mailed in registration applications processed the same day. Independent decision making on refunding and fee waivers as delegated by supervisor

10% - Perform data entry and meta-tagging necessary to process, retrieve and document registration, transfer of ownership, lien status and titled ownership.

Salary Information

These positions pay $19.94 per hour and is in pay schedule and range 02-12. For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. LTE positions do not automatically lead to permanent state employment or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees; however, these positions do offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.

LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours per position within a twelve-month period.

Salary Information

A 12-month probationary period will be required. The classification title for this position is Budget & Policy Supervisor Division - Advanced (schedule 81, range 03). This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit and is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Salary Information

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.
